Re: How come DL185 (ATL-PVG) is not a polar route today but DL583 (DTW-PVG) is!?

Atlanta is much hotter than Detroit. The aircraft could experience sudden temperature changes going from the very warm southern US (ATL) into a freezing polar environment. These sudden temp fluctuations could possibly compromise aircraft structure. It doesn't matter where you are on the globe, it's...

Re: Upstate New York Thread - 2019

I got that alert from Jettip.net, but I looked on flightradar24, and didn't see any evidence of it. Maybe a misfile? What's a misfile? ROU1673 MCO-YYZ diverted to BUF. I would surmise that the first US controller to work the airplane typed in ROU1763 by accident, that's how the track started, and F...

What people who want a DEN style layout need to understand is that the benefits of doing so are highly debatable under the best of circumstances. Says who? How many large hub airports in the world have layouts similar to ATL/DEN vs DFW? Enough said. The debate isn't that the ATL/DEN style of layout...

I think the real story here is that there is a 7+ hour 737 flight. I’d rather walk. Whats the difference between comfort in a 737 and a widebody. It’s night and day... Anyone actually look at the log represented in the posters' image? Shows the aircraft also executed a 180 degree turn within one minute at cruise. Pretty clear there was a glitch in the data retrieval and the aircraft was in fact not traveling at 800+kts.

Raw data from FR24 shows the aircraft going from a 4000fpm climb to roughly a 6000fpm dive within about five seconds.
