All my Russian banks offer me either a Visa or MC when opening an account, the choice is up to me. Not sure what the reason is, and I couldn't care any less since they are widely accepted.Jump to post
You Russians better get your scripts straight, or somebody is going to be out of a job...;) If there is news coverage available on the internet and on some channels, doesn't mean the story is significant for the larger population, my friend. A non-story is something that doesn't gain much momentum....Jump to post
Russian side actually does have descent coverage of this, including these details. Naturally the coverage is decent, I can find if I google and search. I'm saying that it wasn't covered as a hot topic on any of the main channels or publications I read. I didn't know about it, despite listening to t...Jump to post
Just so you know, had I not read about this on a.net, then I would never have known about this scandal. This is a complete non-story in the Netherlands. Completely agree, likewise a non-story in Moscow. News to me only from a.net. Usually posts and news by members who constantly have some verbal di...Jump to post
The SFO to SVO and back, was my childhood route. Used to fly SU on these hops almost every other month. It was a godsend, and made me fall in love with their only two 777-200ERs back in the day. I felt like I knew every little crack on those aircraft. It was obviously served via other cities and by ...Jump to post
Horrible tragedy the morning after Christmas. RIP to our fellow Ukrainian brothers and sisters (and potentially other nationalities as well), no one should go through this. Don't want to be departing from KBP this morning, hope the resources are there to handle this and to provide the families with ...Jump to post
SFO has done this recently, and as a frequent flyer, I welcome the change. Like proposed at LAX, ride share companies can drop off at the curb, but must pick up at designated areas. It has come with some large growing pains, but overall, the curb seems a bit decongested. The one difference here thou...Jump to post

But, as opposed to the system we all know from aviation, business class is superior to first class. Two weeks ago I took the high speed train in business class and the entire coach had just about ten very large seats. Cool. I made this mistake when I took the high speed train for the first time. Ou...Jump to post
I'll second what Braybuddy has said, it's super easy to use a company to do everything for you. And it's cheap to do so. A few months ago, I had two train journeys on China's High Speed Rail, one from Chengdu to Xian and the second from Xian to Beijing. The train was a wonderful experience, it was a...Jump to post
I've been using these bad boys for 13+ years on a daily basis. It's so part of my routine at this point, I don't even notice it. I get them online in the US and W. Europe (in Europe one doesn't need a prescription for contacts), and when in Russia, I stock up for a 6-month supply there since they ar...Jump to post
Glad this worked out, one hell of a day for all involved.
The applause video deserves its own spotlight and I hope there is some longer version of it. A truly heartwarming moment to have passengers thanking the crew and you can see how the emotions overtake the FA.
A full day later and no posts after Gilroy Festival shooting? Do you really think that every piece of news makes it onto A.net threads? And as others have pointed out, these shootings are daily realities for us in the USA. Here's another one to add to the list from today at a Walmart: Shooting in M...Jump to post
I do not see Russians just allowing visa free entry from EU unless it’s reciprocal. There aren’t any talks in progress between EU and Russia on such a thing. But Russians are preparing a simplified visa application process - perhaps this is what is meant here? Putin has signed a decree to establish...Jump to post
Seeing those aircraft brought back some very pleasant memories, what a blast from the past! While I don't know the answer, thanks for a trip down memory lane.Jump to post
SF is nice but it feels too much like a real city which makes it extremely impractical for daily living. :?: That's a new one, wins comment of the day. Real cities are impractical for daily living? Even with all of the current issues plaguing SF and its infrastructure, I would take a SF over...Jump to post
Only you could defend even this, like I said, Russian troll like behavior :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: The rest of the world is laughing at this farce, rightfully so. I usually stay out of political threads. But Dutchy, reading your various posts in multiple threads... all you do is over...Jump to post
This bring me a question: When SU was flying through SNN for refueling between JFK and SVO, did any passenger embark or disembark in SNN? JFK was not the only destination. Growing up as a kid, I spent a lot of time commuting back and forth from SFO to SVO and back. Naturally, a lot of it was throug...Jump to post
Since the SSJ100 is not a large aircraft, I guess the man is the FA that died in the inferno. Indeed so, brave young man. Hope he's in a much better place, can't imagine what was going through his mind as he sat in that back galley at his jumpseat before jumping to save people. Only 22 years old. h...Jump to post

Let's hope passengers who need to rebook / reschedule are accommodated professionally and in reasonable time. Flights were uneventful, but ...Jump to post

Surely there must be more to this story? FR just said "bye" to everyone after landing in Timisoara? Hard to believe. What about the crew?Jump to post
Despite those previous cases EasyJet still didn't adapt their policy. They still overbook. Bumping passengers gives them a lot of negative publicity, so perhaps it's better to stop overbooking. Ryanair doesn't overbook and on average they're even cheaper than EasyJet, so financially there's no need...Jump to post
They can’t divert to Bahrain anymore. (Or UAE, Saudi Arabia or Egypt) anymore for the last 18 months or so for political reasons. Their closest options are now Iran, Kuwait and (slightly further away) Oman. Correct! I meant to write Kuwait and wrote Bahrain. Woke up too early, thanks for the correc...Jump to post
I'm sure they were all being taken care of nicely. Will be a fun tale to tell family and friends. Russia needs to figure a way out of this box they have put themselves in and taking Ukraine ships is unacceptable. Sounds like you only read one side of the story. But that's a different issue. Why is this news? Boeing delivers hundreds of 737’s per year. Simple concept. Congrats to Norwegian and their o...Jump to post
Everyone always starts attacking the administration. But I, for one, as a US citizen, wouldn't mind having a discussion about this law. Every airline I've ever flown or looked with has provided the info. The airport also provides the information. For specific airline/airport information, your way to do it works fine. SAS is probably the only commercial operator that got close to the NPOLE. I think I've seen SFO-DXB and return get pretty darn close up there.
