The whole "turned back to the airport" notion could also just be the plane spinning down after the rocket hit. It doesn't look like it just fell out of the sky based on that video. There was some sort (albeit small) glide in there. Just more speculation to throw on the pile.

Looked like an United Express E170 just landed on 19L with no nose gear deployed. Lots of sparks as the nose scraped along the runway. Hope everyone is OK. Anyone have more info?

When I was down there during a 747 takeoff, the gentleman next to me got his face cut up pretty bad from rocks and pebbles in the jetblast. It wasn't just scrapes, it drew some blood. I gave in and turned my head... It's dangerous for sure.
