Thanks for the insight..

Do we know when any of the specialty planes will be due for a repaint? I’ve seen a few pics of the “Salmon Thirty Salmon” 800 and the paint still looks good from a distance.

LH, along with a few other airlines have painted their wings white. I noticed none of the US airlines haven’t. Is it allowed in the US to completely paint the wings white? Also what colors are typically allowed to be painted on commercial aircraft wings?

I watched this MD80 Lansing while I was on my way home from work.. Thought it was quite awesome to see an AA MD80 here in LAS.. There are also plenty of WN planes wearing canyon blue. I’d imagine you’ll be seeing Canyon Blue for a little while longer..

I was at MSP airport yesterday and saw an all white MD90, and what looked to be a beige colored DC9. I’d imagine the MD90 was an ex Delta frame, however anyone know who the DC9 belonged to?

IMHO if they ever decide to change anything, it will be the tail. It would be nice if they took the eagle logo in front of the titles, and placed it on the tail instead of the flag. I’d imagine some of their planes will be due for a repaint soon.

I believe IND is where WN does a lot of their checks. I’d imagine Nevada One is in the process of a 20Y check. With WN looking to retire a lot of the older -700s, Id imagine N727 will likely be retired within the next few years.

For some reason WN skipped around on some of the numbers. 702, 721, and 722 at the time were assigned to a -200 they got from the original Midway. For some other unknown reasons they have also skipped over 393 with the -300s, and for some reason 8304 doesn’t exist on the -800s. For obvious superstit...
