TWA 841 was a rare case of suicide bombing. The culprit was on board and had checked a bag with an improvised bomb. GZM was in the promontory opposite the airport and saw two white TWA 707s (old livery) take off in front of the East Terminal building as both were half-empty and didn’t take all of t...Jump to post

That was prior to us actually attempting to get our approval. When we started attempting to achieve ETOPS approval on the -800s they covered all the ETOPS labels up and they were only uncovered after the approval. The MAX 8’s had the same exact thing happen to them when we started the program, they...Jump to post

To my understanding they didn’t even take the paint off the VX. Just painted over it to get the virgin branding gone as quickly as possible to not have to pay Branson They did have to strip the body of the VX paint, the VX paint on most was nearing time to be repainted already. Maybe that was just ...Jump to post
Does this also mean they might be doing a BSI retrofit on their older 737s?
As someone who works crew on the 737, it’s amazing to see the difference. I’ve worked a 7 year old 737-800 with the BSI, and the pax think it’s a brand new airplane.
I wonder what the new cabin would look like? Why would the cabin change? This is a small range increase. Cabin should continue to be the same. It's nice already Design evolutions; short term max take off weight to increase range, new cabins for Air France and Breeze Apparently part of what Armagnac...Jump to post

How come all the new builds for Aeroflot (aside from the A350) are still in the old livery? I understand about lead times, however its been almost a year (maybe more?) since they launched it. Yes. DL paint lines restarted in January. Aircraft being painted in Peru Indiana and Lake Charles Louisiana.
Well, here's the thing about aircraft lease arrangements; LUV did this in the second quarter, when the Max situation wasn't so great and people were loving the NG's, which were holding their values pretty well. That's kind of an anomaly due to the grounding. Secondly, as long as the terms of the lea...Jump to post

If 40.5 and 41 were the actual delta in value between an older NG and a MAX, not much of a case for better engines. How much more do they pay for the same aircraft in ten years time? Does the purchase price increase about 4% a year to keep up with the time-value of money? Well, here's the thing abo...Jump to post

Someone mentioned that SWA had no experience with a dual fleet. Twice in the history of SWA they operated Boeing 727s alongside their 737 fleet, and managed to make it work. Looking at the A220 isn’t all about “keeping Boeing honest,” and “getting a better deal out of Boeing,” they’ve actually kicke...Jump to post
Older planes with polished aluminum looked great. But today’s generation of aircraft, with all the composite and carbon fiber, wouldn’t look nearly as clean. I believe it was one of the reasons AA chose to get rid of the aluminum finish and introduce their current livery. AA's last batch of 738s (d...Jump to post

A few years back KLM launched a new/ revised livery. Looking through some pictures it seems that a good chunk of their fleet is already in the new livery. Does anyone know the actual count of how many aircraft are in the new livery, and how many they have remaining in the previous livery?
AA was the first airline to clear its backlog of frames with final frame N338ST flying away yesterday. N341SV will be the next one to go, but that is a fresh factory build. UA only has 3 left (N27526, N37528, & N17529) WN has 20 left with 2 of those new builds N8703J N8800L N8801Q N8802Q N8803L...Jump to post

I’ve come across a picture of a TWA 747 that looks to be having its paint stripped outside in MCI. Strangely enough, photos that show OA 747s parked at JFK -any terminal- (that is before 1999 when they were replaced by A340s) do not exist in the photo base.
