RE: KLM Fuel Dump (pics)

The reason why the Captain kept the aircraft lower than usual is because the gear and flaps / slats have mach limits as well as indicated airspeed limits. In a climb, the mach is going to increase (assuming constant airspeed). The aircraft was probably heavy which means a clean wing minimum maneuver...

RE: Sinlge Runway Numbers

Runway 20 (200 degrees) is the reciprocal heading for Runway 2 (020). 200-180=20.

I can't see the video you are referring to but if the pilot exited the departure end of Runway 2, you would see signs / runway letters for Runway 20.

Hope this helps.

It was very interesting to hear NY Center stacking aircraft into holding on such a beautiful night. I wonder how many times this happens at civilian airports (multiple emergencies)? At a military base, it is common to have two fighters diverting with problems.

I agree with you that Wing was too close to lead. However, the formation was too close to the boat (Leads fault). This puts Wing in an unsafe position thus causing him to get close to lead. Wing could have avoided this by pulling up and away before reaching the boat and/or turn.
