Have had a stint in the jump seat of euro Atlantic last l1011, we operated out of Dublin mid 00s.. We had a 763er at the time and many of the flight crew were flying both types. The l10 had smooth landings, one thing to note the nose wheel often came to ground near the completion of the landing run....Jump to post
So if many cuts to UK bases goes ahead where will the aircraft go?
Are any bases within Europe growing in size?
Can't help but feel fr are have used up all their bluffs.
Muscle memory is a term used for the rebound effect a previously trained person gets when they return to the gym. The brain is the issue here, any ingrained patterns of behavior in this situation should be ignored simply by the smell of smoke. That's not how the brain works. Even under "normal&...Jump to post

If they are locked up for other reasons other than planning a terror attack, why exactly are they being detained? Local political stuff?
Wouldn't be a fan of ever visiting or transiting through DXB
Well the plane certainly did pitch its nose down, since a guy did almost slip out of his seat. I'd find that a bit hard to imagine if the nose was still pointed up or stabilized during the the altitude drop. They may have just done a descent to get into clear air. Did your family members have the Q...Jump to post
That's a valid point, they do seem a little quiet with not a whole lot of defensive public press coming out.
Does that company have a leader capable of public speaking? Would that not be the chap that received the 30 mill bonus.
Point no 3 is crucial, giving off the image (we really care) will help heel the wounds.
I do hope they can explain to the public the ins and outs of the fix and why it was needed in a transparent way.. For Joe public to understand
It's becoming very repetitive, the 200hr topic. If it were a contributing factor its all in hindsight,so it took a catastrophic crash for us all to note how inadequate 200hrs actually is.
There is also a possibility this was a failure no amount of experience could help you with.
Are there any accounts of what the air traffic controllers observed?Jump to post
Norwegian grounds Boeing 73 max
The Irish aviation authority temporarily suspends ops of all max variants into and out of Irish airspace.
I personally think this is the right thing to do,until at least they can understand what causes this most recent crash.
Hi all, This is a little less about aircraft and a good bit more about photography. Over the past few years there has been tons of new cameras and lenses launched, not just new cameras but new systems such as mirror less cameras. Yesterday i noticed my old sigma 70\300 is literally falling apart,so i...Jump to post

With Ei not being the biggest airline how long do they expect to have the entire fleet repainted? I believe the uniforms were designed in France or at least the material was sourced there. The change in branding is free press for them,im hoping it will be an improvement on an already nice colour sche...Jump to post
Was looking at flights to and from Europe to Reunion last night. As I expected there was 744s as well as 777s flying from Paris then I noticed bf707. Im aware the a333 has been upgraded extensively but I didn't expect to see this type on this route. With a flight time of over 11 hours what is the max...Jump to post
Have not yet read the entire thread.. I have seen inefficiency mentioned on some of the longer routes. I don't really buy the idea the aircraft is under performing in ability, it wasn't too long ago I recall big praise in performance coming from the flight tests. I pass through ams quiet alot, whils...Jump to post
To divert or not to divert is in this instance is an interesting topic. If Algeria was unsuitable an area to divert to why so?
Will be interesting to see exactly what caused the engine issues.
We're really through the looking glass now: "Police tell BBC News they “cannot discount the possibility that there may have been no drone at all”. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-46665615 That's what I've asked days ago earlier in this thread: Do we have hard evidence, that there has bee...Jump to post
Not many here are questioning if the airfield should be open, the surprise for all here to see is the vulnerability. I respect the authority's taking the longer route and wanting to find the drone operators. Any spotters out there today? Pair of binoculars and simply look at what direction these thi...Jump to post

Hi all, If this is the wrong section then please move or delete. I travel frequently between Stavanger and Dublin, my other half generally books tickets for me. No,the wealth fund isn't there to prop up private business errors. If Norwegian are going down a slippery slope just how much longer will it take for them to go bankrupt? If they are running on credit surely some banks are aware of their short comings. My own personal view would be they don't seem t...Jump to post
Hi all, There are persistent winds which blow in out atmosphere in about the same direction for most of the time eg,,north atlantic winds blow from west to east. I can't understand why they diverted to such a remote airport? It's a 4-engined aircraft. It still had 3 good engines. An A380 with 3 engines running isn't required to land at the nearest suitable airport. It would have been easier to get accommodations and flights to their final destinations for t...Jump to post
so is rpm the whole story from a stress point. I suggest that the stress on the LP turbine is significantly higher at take off and landing, that's why engines are measured in cycles as crack propagation happens at take off and landing. Therefore a failure in cruise is unusual for a metal fatigue fa...Jump to post
So enlighten us, what is the take off RPM And what is the cruise RPM?? Well, since cruise fan (N1) speed is typically 75/80% of max (100%) RPMs and according to this document ( http://www.easa.europa.eu/system/files/dfu/EASA-TCDS-E.026_(IM)_Engine_Alliance_GP7200_series_engines-03-04012013.pdf ) N1...Jump to post
