Re: Raleigh/Durham Aviation Thread - 2020

Just my opinion, but DL is not going to sit back and let their market share that they have grown get eroded. That would be financially unstable. Something will happen. maybe not this week or next, but something will happen. I just have a feeling..

Re: Raleigh/Durham Aviation Thread - 2020

How many gates does DL.have on D now? How many would they have if they take all but Uas? Delta currently uses 7 gates on D (plus C1/C3). Pre-Covid, they used 9. Delta could take C1, C3, D1, D3, D5, D6, D8-13 and have all the D concourse before the end and leave the end for UA and have plenty of spa...

Re: Raleigh/Durham Aviation Thread - 2020

So, even though it was announced on the main thread, I'm adding it here. Jetblue announces RDU to LAX (18Dec2020), SJU (19Nov2020), RSW (19Nov2020), CUN (19Nov2020), MBJ (19Nov2020). RSW and MBJ are non-compete routes (RSW since DL hasn't announced the holiday service and MBJ since F9 dropped it). B...

Wonder if the LCC move to Terminal 1 will occur this winter? I couldn’t imagine it’s immediately warranted, but it might be nice to go ahead and set it up so it’s not a big action later. I would worry about Delta relaunching RDUCDG which is increasingly going to be unlikely. LHR isn’t happening. Everything is a gamble right now. Seems AA remains committed to LHR with the RDU flight starting back up this winter. So does this seem like a good time for DL to jump on board to start shaving off some of the pie? Well, it looks like A1-A4 have been reactivated even if they are not going to be in use. They now show up on the Terminal 1 map. I wonder why F9 isn't moving until September. they are still running a fairly okay schedule out of RDU. i would think the lower rent would be helpful to shave some cost of...

Also remember AA Eagle had a LGA shuttle after JI went under. I think it was somewhere between 12-15 Eagle flights to LGA or something like that? I think between AEagle, US, DL... RDU has up to 22-27 daily nonstop flights to LGA alone at one point.. can’t remember the exact number. But it was a lot!!!

Yeah.. it was basically No hub —> AA hub —> Midway hub —> AA Eagle hub —> Delta focus city with not much time in between each stage. It will be interesting to see what happens next. Re: OAG Changes 5/24/2020:The Summer of George;DL Hacks July;AS Adds DEN-PDX,FAT-LAX,GEG-SJC, Suspends JFK-LAX Till Fall

How likely do you think it is that these focus cities (especially RDU and CVG) are going to return to their pre-Covid sizes? Lots of little adjustment by the airlines. DL moves CDG to 5x weekly but then the government restricted all flights to Europe (except LHR) for 30 days.
