It uses the 802.11 protocol, which operates at 2.4 ghz. Now, Doesn't Luftansa's Internet Service provide service to passengers using 802.11? If it does, then it should alright. I know the German gov't apporved 802.11 devices to be used on aircraft.

I noticed that people can correctly identify aircraft if its unique. Look at the 747 for example, its a household word and everyone can identify it because of the famous upper-deck.
