So, will they go under before their entire fleet is re-painted?
Place your bets, folks!
Reagan National Airport (DCA) in Washington, D.C.–Will Rogers Airport (OKC) in Oklahoma City Bwahahaha! You had all this time to get in before WN did...and in true fashion, you wait til 6 months after they announce it to announce yours. Oh well, hopefully both routes stick and the competition keeps...Jump to post
Southwest has so many years of consistency to back up that they know what they are doing. Let's recap: 1. Fares that are consistently as low as (if not, slightly higher) than the big 3's Economy Minus fares. 2. DECADES of quarterly profits 3. NEVER had to hide behind Chapter 11 to cover for their f...Jump to post
Looking at the updated models, anything in the region from CHS to ORF on the coast and CAE/CLT/RDU/RIC inland is about to see some serious disruption...from both the winds and the flooding afterwards.Jump to post
Hmm, let's see if Jack Stryker could land an A-380 "It's an entirely different type of flying altogether!"  Yeah, well this plane has FOUR engines. And isn't it Ted Striker? Oh, it's a big, pretty, white plane with red stripes, curtains in the window, and wheels, and it loo...Jump to post
It's really ironic how in most levels of business we have allowed other countries to jump in and exploit our American market place even operating factories here to circumvent the system even giving them very low taxes because it's deemed as what the people want but we seem to protect our railroads ...Jump to post
too bad some new markets will be flown on 767s! oh, wow! not a good idea... :/ can't wait until they are all retired. I love the 76...but AA makes me hate it when I fly on theirs... I'm curious, having flown into both BLQ and DBV, where on earth are they going to gate these aircraft? The ramp space...Jump to post
Well, we're running out of engines...and they keep trying to put new software on systems that are pushing 45-50 years old...so yah.Jump to post
What should really be discussed is what the USAF is going to do about AWACS.
Let me get this straight: DL is choosing to give their customers a better experience and some are knocking them for it? For as much as many complain about how modern air travel stinks compared to 'how it used to be', you'd think that everyone would be happy about DL's attempt... It's the same folks...Jump to post
I flew last year from TGD to CRL and my flight was definitely packed with Albanese people. It was easy to spot them particularly at the passport check in TGD where they were asked all kinds of documents... quite odd to see that in Europe. But then it reminds you that Albania is kind of the last bor...Jump to post
TIA needs to wake up. TGD which is not that far away has been attracting lowcost carriers and both Ryanair and Wizz Air have been rather successful. I'm sure they're really worried...considering it takes nearly 3 hours to drive from Podgorica to Tirana...and the roads are pretty bad (unless you're ...Jump to post
They need to pick a central location to the entire metro area, buy out all the buildings there, and drop them to build an ample-sized airport for the region... I nominate the entire island of Manhattan! ;) Just curious, how long do you guys think it will be before the next thread is posted about thi...Jump to post
This is why everyone should be using skiplagged, that way the airlines will learn their lesson on not taking advantage of people. As much as I hate the lack of common sense when it comes to airfare pricing, they charge what the markets dictate and can support. That's why LCC competition against the...Jump to post
As much as miss the ExpressJet service from a decade ago that ran between AUS/SAT and OKC, I was actually thinking of using these guys to go visit my family in a few weeks...good thing I didn't book the tix.Jump to post
The bombing in 16 didn't help...but Belgium, as a whole, suffers from a glaring lack of government cohesion (in fact, google how many times they haven't had a government due to electoral issues). On top of that, imo, their levels of bureaucracy seem to reach stratospheric proportions when it comes t...Jump to post

American's policy is to just take out the axe and start chopping - cancel as much as possible we'll pick up the pieces tomorrow. As opposed to their DFW policy where they start delaying everything that moves whenever there's a lightning bolt within 500 miles of the airfield. My own personal opinion...Jump to post

Why is it that WN seems to be the ONLY airline on this forum that folks bring up fuel hedging on like it's some evil plot by them to fudge their numbers to look better? Other airlines can do it too...and sometimes they come out better per quarter because of it. It reminds me of that interview with A...Jump to post
At least at AMS, DL is the only one with this setup. No similar process on KLM. Security theater and nothing else. Yep...which is why I fly KLM instead of DL back to the States from there whenever I can. I got the whole 20 questions in BRU on Friday...with a rather insulting tone from the Belgian q...Jump to post
I think that a 28" seat pitch is great. Not to sit in but it allows airlines like Spirit and Ryanair to do what they do best, get someone from A to B cheaply. If you want anything more than that you pay more. But having low prices puts downward pressure on the legacies. They have been selling ...Jump to post
Somebody just now realized all this security theater is fake? Designed to make people like the author feel safe when they are literally doing nothing? You mean TSA searching my ham and cheese sandwich isn't making me safer??????????? No, but the impending "take out all your powders, underwear,...Jump to post
I'm saying that people are stupid and the airlines are taking advantage of their stupidity...and that stupidity/taking advantage is going to get folks killed one day because the gov't won't intervene and bring some common sense back into the equation.Jump to post

That’s an evacuation certification issue. FAA already controls (and cares about) that.
The shareholders aren't going to be pleased. Ya know what? Screw em. It shouldn't be all about them 100% of the time. And since the pax are the ones paying the $$ that in turn feeds the bottom line, the positive PR and possible increase in traffic to DL because of this (note: POSSIBLE) could be wor...Jump to post
When they announced the refit, they stated that they were keeping the 3-3-3 because they felt that would differentiate them more positively from the other two of the US3. And I thank them for it...as I am one of the few who intentionally avoids the 777s as much as possible if they're 3-4-3 config.Jump to post
Thanks for a great trip report. I really enjoyed reading it. I’ve flown United several times from SYD to LAX/SFO, and have been interested for quite some time now to see how AA compared on this route. On the basis of your trip report United win hands down! Unfortunately it doesn’t make me want to r...Jump to post
