Re: JetBlue Network Thread - 2020

They stated PWM will not return in 2020. Obviously in this environment things can change but this was part of the release. Well, I guess their booking data must be showing less interest in PWM. Did they share anything else not mentioned in that article like what % of schedule they are flying? Maine...

It was N370FR, originated at MCO. Then to PHL-PWM. But Frontier suspended flights to PWM. It’s been at least a week or two since a flight has come in. If they took cared money then they are not allowed to suspend PWM. They must provide between 1 and 5 weekly frequencies to any destination based on ...

They already approached BTV about flying couple years ago. They wanted the ability to do up to 7 flights a day. They wanted there own counter and gates. The airport director shot it down. Basically saying that it didn’t fit BTVS culture. He was afraid that WN would come in and other airlines would ...

We have discussed before, but I think now is the time WN maybe tries BTV. And by now, I mean in the next 1-3 years. Looking at their new add of Steamboat, I think it bodes well for BTV down to road. With what routes and schedules, though? I'm not sure if the ski destination model would work for BTV...

This may be a bit "out there" but I'm wondering what effect this very mild New England winter will have on loads for F9 and G4 flights from New England to Florida. Speaking for VT at least it might have been mild, but it's still winter and hugely different than in Florida, so I would thin...

How many problems are in that video? I like watching classic airliners, but not THAT close (i.e., if the wingtip goes right over my head, that's too close). And if they had been further down the runway, that landing gear bogie would have not have stopped for them. And the cherry on top is how it se...

Population and passenger counts tend to grow over time. Some of those airports should grow their traffic to fill the larger aircraft. That is a resonable guess and was option #3. Up until 1967 you needed to fly in a 4 engine jet to have more than 131 seats and the biggest Boeing 4 engine jet was li...

PWM has always done pretty well with its yields, but F9 seeks bargain seekers and it forces the market to decide if they want to put up a fight or back away. A bubble gets built when airlines fight back with adding low fare capacity in hopes of driving F9 out, or at least minimize its impact. In th...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Impressive research VS4ever. If MHT continues to decline in the future, we may eventually see BVT catch up to it in passenger counts. Don't think anyone would have predicted this turn of events over a decade ago. After the morning push the terminal must be eerily quiet with the exception of the Sou...

Yeah it is very strange! But I think its a great addition to just have something to connect the gate areas! It's not something the average customer will need to use, and they can make it look nicer with carpeting and things. I think speed is important, so anything pre-fab will help that. Also, sinc...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Here’s a schematic of the new walkway to connect the North and South terminals at BTV. So it looks like the walkway will in fact go right through the 2nd floor offices, then punch a hole through the wall at one of United’s mainline gates. Is anyone familiar with the layout of BTV’s administrative o...

Re: Flights are being kept on taxiways at YUL

I see at least two diversions from YUL to BTV and one from YOW.

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Stop arguing and get back on topic. I'm surprised BTV hasn't closed their crosswind runway as it seems to restrict the growth of the terminal and seems too short for regular jetliner ops The terminal is pretty much parallel to 1-19 so I don't think the runway should be much of an obstacle to expans...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

I was in BTV yesterday. Frontier had cancelled the Denver flight that day. How do they deal with that? Will they rebook on united or other carriers or do you have to wait for days? Doubt there was room to rebook an entire plane on the next flight. I think that’s just the downside of depending on UL...

Re: JetBlue Network Thread - 2019

BTV and Upstate NY cities are served for political reasons along with SWF and ORH Stop fixating on them...they aren’t going anywhere how exactly is BTV served for political reasons? genuinely curious since I've never heard this before. I am curious also. I have heard it before but never seen it exp...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Frontier just extended their schedules into March and BTV-MCO is back as of November, but now 4x per week. That is up from 2x or sometimes 3x per week this past winter. DEN appears to be stopping in November. It never seemed clear if this was planned to be seasonal from the beginning or not.

Re: Flight Numbers

B6 sometimes has the same last digits for all flights on the same route. For example JFK-BTV has 34, 234, 1634 and JFK-ROC has 286, 486 and 586. Some of the BOS-DCA flights are -89. BTV and ROC have been around a long time. I don't believe this is often or ever done on new routes or added flights.

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Here’s an article on the new North-South terminal connections project at BTV. I thought the following was noteworthy: “The enclosed ramp will be made from shipping containers, which airport officials also used in February to create a new gateway ramp when Frontier first started operating out of Bur...
