Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

BTV released their June numbers. Healthy load factors pushed enplanements up +7% despite a slight decrease in departing capacity. Looks like Delta's growth (I believe this is an extra crj9 frequency to both ATL and JFK vs last year) and Frontier helped offset AA's draconian PHL cuts (this year 4x d...

Is B6 still 3x daily BTV-JFK year round? or do they go down to 2x in the slower months? Seems like jetblue isn't exactly healthy at BTV They're loaded at 3x daily year round. They're load factors have steadily eroded over the past year or two in addition to what I see has been giving up a lot of pr...

From a quick glance at the plans in the video, looks like the new TSA checkpoint will be added to the right portion of the terminal that is currently part of the apron. Then BTV will be able to remove the temporary container connector that I'm guessing is up and running now? PWM just built a white ...

BTV is going to have the unusual distinction today of seeing all three of B6's current aircraft models today. B6 34 arrived early this morning with an A320 and B6 1634 is currently en-route with an A321 (Mint even!) I assume this is for recovery from the recent weather problems.

BTV-CLT going to 3x daily in December around Christmas time. Hopefully will start to see some mainline thrown on this route here soon. Impressive research VS4ever. If MHT continues to decline in the future, we may eventually see BVT catch up to it in passenger counts. Don't think anyone would have predicted this turn of events over a decade ago. After the morning push the terminal must be eerily quiet with the exception of the Sou...

Yeah it is very strange! But I think its a great addition to just have something to connect the gate areas! Stop arguing and get back on topic. I was in BTV yesterday. Frontier had cancelled the Denver flight that day. How do they deal with that? Will they rebook on united or other carriers or do you have to wait for days? Frontier just extended their schedules into March and BTV-MCO is back as of November, but now 4x per week. That is up from 2x or sometimes 3x per week this past winter. DEN appears to be stopping in November. It never seemed clear if this was planned to be seasonal from the beginning or not.

B6 sometimes has the same last digits for all flights on the same route. For example JFK-BTV has 34, 234, 1634 and JFK-ROC has 286, 486 and 586. Some of the BOS-DCA flights are -89. BTV and ROC have been around a long time. I don't believe this is often or ever done on new routes or added flights.

This is a dumb question, but does BGR get EAS funding? That’s an absolute game changer for getting an airline to serve the BOS route.

Looks like BGR is not EAS eligible.

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

So BTV UGE is currently short over 15 employees. If they would go mainline the station would get a huge upgrade. I see BTV Changing to mainline very soon. The contract jobs just can’t do it like the mainline guys/girls. Also mainline pays better and would help attract more people to apply. UGE, lik...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Concord Coach and C&J Trailways basically is the turboprop commuter line of Logan which came in place after Business Express and other props folded going to BOS. With over 10 runs from Portland, there would never be a flight to BOS and being 2 hours away makes no sense. BTV has greyhound to Sou...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

ROC certainly makes more sense on the face of it, but as noted there are already two airlines serving ROC-BOS, so that should make it a bit more difficult choice. It still seems strange to me that DL would want to make it a 3-way competition at ROC. Regarding connections, I would much rather make a ...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

As the article notes, there were once a great many BOS-BTV flights, on several carriers. But each of those carriers apparently found the market to be less than profitable. What has changed to make it potentially better? Unless roads are bad, the drive is not much than three hours. I agree that both...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

Guess I could have added UA's Saturday mainline to DEN which starts in June. So if we pick a Saturday during the summer PWM could have around 23 mainline flights which is the most I can ever recall. Maybe hopper would know historically because there were quite a few mainline flights in the late 90'...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

There isn’t a ron Btv-Den because BTV DOESNT HAVE CATERING. Also if UA starts Ron a den flight we can welcome back mainline employees. See BTV UA is run By UGE. So United mainline employees do not work at BTV. UA mainline will come back of planes operate for 6 months or more. This is per there unio...

Re: The Rest of New England (BDL/PVD/MHT/PWM/ORH/BTV/HVN/BGR) - 2019

I didn’t look at the timing of the DEN flights much. They must really be focused on nonstop O&D then. I think it does exist. Anyway, the timing is definitely one of the reason why I would’ve much preferred an RON, say Friday inbound to BTV (or PWM since these are essentially identical routes), ...
