Reminds me of the TWA 707 stratoliner with the Constellation livery. I actually prefer this Golden Crown version rather than the original DC-8 livery. All the shiny metal behind there is the thrust reverser translating cowl which slides rearwards. The nose cowl and side cowl are removed when the engine is changed, and usually stay with the aircraft. I’ve arrived at JFK terminal 3 gates from ATL, but only on a widebody (L15, A310). This was around 1996-97 timeframe, we walked up the ramp to the terminal instead of riding the escalator down to immigration.

BA converted many of their Tristar 200 to remove the lower galley and extend the fwd freight hold in its place. The main deck galleys were made larger by removing the lifts. They must have made more money from freight than Y pax. Was this the Tristar 200F?? Was that galley not optional to airlines ...

Since this was a leak test and not an operational or functional check, it is possible that the paperwork was not looking for accuracy of airspeed data but just integrity of the pitot static plumbing. I agree with other posters that this data could have been blanked by the modules in the e&e bay....

DL was big in SDF in the 1970s, the only airline to have their own concourse. They also had those Goodyear SpeedRamps instead of escalators (the things you remember from childhood).
