Re: Air Force One

I'm no expert, but there is at least one nat geo documentary on youtube, that indicates it does stay at the destination. I would assume , usually a near by military base. It'd have secret service protection. It would be needed to get the President out quick it something happens, for example 9/11

When flying from Melbourne back home to Alice Springs, I frequently see QF cancellations from melb to Sydney, but there is always another flight leaving in 1/2 and hour. Last flights of the day requiring said aircraft to be in the other city for the morning flights probably always go out. SYD-MELB i...

Use of seatbelt light USA compared to other countries

I've wondered this for many years, having lived now in Australia for the past 20. When I fly in the USA, the seat belt light stays on until cruising altitude. It gets turned back on at the top of decent. Having flown in Australia the past 20 years. The light is switched off even as early as 2 min af...

Ok, reading in the QF fleet thread: https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1382753, last page, regarding aircraft in Singapore for repaint flying back to Australia as a repositioning flight 6XXX. Not sure many people connect from one international flight to another at an airport in the US. Hundreds of thousands, if not a few million do it every year. Mostly at the southern hubs like IAH, MIA, DFW, ATL, LAX. Last time I was at IAH they even have special lanes dedicated to intl2intl passenger...
