Seems to me this is the ripest time that it’s going to get for Southwest to acquire or merge with another carrier. The MAX “catastrophe” is the perfect case to be made to labor groups within WN and federal regulators.

WN used to run -800’s through SNA. You have to remember that all of WN’s aircraft are heavier than their legacy counterparts due to single class configuration.

Rumors swirling again that Southwest is looking to merge or acquire Hawaiian Airlines as the company has announced internally that they are ceasing all hiring effective immediately.

Rumors on Delta Airline pilot forums that Delta will be securing approx 25 717’s from another carrier.

Can't reveal my sources, but the Hawaii announcement is imminent. It was supposed to be announced with the delivery of their first MAX8, but was delayed due to Hurricane Harvey.

Initial service will rival Alaska's service out of California.

I believe Southwest removed gasper fans due to maintenance costs—might contribute. I know they don't run APU's on the ground, and sometimes ground air doesn't cut it.
