Re: Chicago Cubs have made me very happy

A great night in Cleveland: the Indians open the World Series and the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James will get their rings and raise their championship banner. I bet it will be crazy in their downtown area tonight. Sadly, Cleveland has absolutely no chance. The last time I said that was in the...

Re: Chicago Cubs have made me very happy

Well, the Indians have the best pitching staff of all the teams in the playoffs this season, so... that speaks very well to them winning this series. Once you get past Kluber their pitching staff is very beatable. Bauer didn't impress and the guy, tonight has given up 36 home runs this year, which ...

Apparently some of you have forgotten that it is a SEVEN game series, with it now tied at 1-1 and at Wrigley for the next three games.

Sadly, Cleveland has absolutely no chance. The last time I said that was in the ALCS against Toronto, and prior to that- the ALDS against Boston. I was in a bad accident on the way to work on day and was vehicle number 12 of about 20. Mainly, because they're running on freight tracks. Next time you see a train on the tracks, look and see how wobbly they look (without getting run over, of course).

Just to be contrarian here's one person at least rooting for the Indians. My old man was born in Cleveland in 1939 and saw his one and only series win at the age of nine. After the Red Sox lost, I was actually having a tough time deciding who I wanted to win it all. Pros (mostly what former Sox they have): Dodgers - Dave Roberts is the manager, nothing more needs to be said, and they also have Rich Hill (I also live in LA, but that doesn't really matter). Indians - ...

Contacted a retired DL pilot that used to fly 880s out of IAH. He tells me that they kept their speed down, to help with the fuel burn and he suspects that other operators did, too. He said that their cruise MACH was .85 or .86 when he was flying them.

The name was an indication of its cruising speed ... 880 ft/s or 600 mph. Guess the 880, 707-120B and 720B could all maintain 600 statute mph at around 21000 ft-- right? Just curious what was the longest route any airline flew the MD-11? Delta for sure pushed their MD-11's to the limit, with JFK-NRT, ATL-NRT but LAX-HKG would be the longest non-stop route ever flown with the MD-11. Not sure how much the MD-11 was being pushed on this route, but ATH-ATL sure seemed ...

Unlikely to see an airline 'accept' a preloaded LD3 ever. This isn't a cargo ship. Dispatch will provide a load guide for the aircraft type and route. They load LD3's based on station weight for the aircraft's weight and balance. An LD3 loaded for a 777 might have to be repacked for an A330 or vice...
