RE: Heavyweight Bout For BA. The A380 Or The 747-8i

They will buy 10-15 A380's now, fly them and test their economics and then they will have a better idea of what to use to replace the remaining 744's. Even if they then buy the 748, they will always need 10-15 A380's for certain routes.

RE: Branson Warns Of Threat To A380 Maker

What SRB is doing is purely a dig at Airbus for some unclear motive - maybe Boeing offered an additional discount on the 787's for him to make those comments? (his comments are basically Airbus are wrong, Boeing are right with their 787 strategy), which SRB does not necessarily agree with - especial...

Air Tahiti Nui And EU/US Open Skies

One quick thought that just came to me...will the EU/US Open Skies agreement put huge pressure on Air Tahiti Nui? Any airline from the US and EU can now operate flights from Tahiti to any destination in the US...or is it too small and not have enough business travellers to make it interesting?

So funny...I really wish people would read the whole article rather than focus on the discount. Airbus are discouning an over inflated list price, so the A350 costs exactly the same as a 787 - $102 million. So for all the people on this list saying Airbus are "giving them away", suggests Boeing are ...
