If the unions accepted 2 hours of CVR recording time, I don't see what the objection would be at this point to increasing it. All in-flight cockpit conversations are already recorded, most just end up overwritten with new data. I would hope the Unions see the safety value in a 25hr CVR. The average...

I heard somewhere they could erase the software remotely. The operators were able to glide for a while enabling the wiping of the encryption keys and all other Mission Critical software. The USAF should have picked it up, if it had the same engines as the VC-25B's. I think that would be impossible. A VC-25 has a specific build right from the first rivet. As someone in the air show circuit, I also grew up as a kid watching his demos in COMPLETE awe. Top Gun graduate AND instructor, he flew over 850 air shows in more types of aircraft than I could possibly list.. he was a master of the ultimate Grumman "cat" - which was not an easy aircraft...

Gods Speed to “Snort” who was killed in a Marchetti SM.1019 in Lewiston, Idaho yesterday. Had the pleasure to meet him once in 1998. Had over 4,800 hrs in the F14 and over 1200 arrested landings.
