Why on earth do all these countries have a say in what Korean airlines do? I mean... did South Korea have a say in UA/CO merging? Because aviation is global and deals can have impacts on the competition. United had to receive approval for its proposed merger from a host of countries including EU, C...Jump to post
While you're all preoccupied with the JFK cut, UA is quietly making some additional, major cuts behind your back. As per Cirium, they are cutting the following routes indefinitely: IAH - YEG, LAX-COS, LAX-MSN, LAX-EUG, LAX-MFR, EWR-XNA, ORD-EUG, ORD-SBA, SFO-MSN, SFO-DTW, SFO-STL, SFO- OKC. Great review. Hopefully, someday you could upgrade yourself to F in order to get the royal treatment you deserve! That aside, I find the 757 to be the most stable single-aisle airplane in the air, your particular intermittently turbulent flight notwithstanding. Always good to see you review the netw...Jump to post
Another very cool report.
The domestic wide-bodies are definitely worth going for. I've been staying put still, but hope to resume leisure travel as soon as things sort themselves out just a little bit more.
Thank you for sharing!
Feedback... Easy: great trip report! Widebody flights are the best, and I too seek them out whenever flying coast-to-coast as well. Seeing the pictures from your third flight segment, I understand that they are trying to keep heat out - but closed window shades at boarding just feels unwelco...Jump to post
Wow. It really looks like you were able to maximize the time at your destination and make the best use of it possible. It's been a long time since I've been in a pinball arcade - but now I will try to seek one out!... Your cat is really smart - blocking your bag to prevent you from leaving! :boxedin...Jump to post
Nice trip report!... I guess you aren't really into the terminal and/or check-in experiences eh?
That said, thank you for sharing your incredible day trip experiences, and good luck on your pilot "endeavors", pun intended.
Another great trip report!... I like those dawn time-lapse slides - always amazing to watch the sun go up when flying.
Why don't you treat yourself to a hotel night's stay at the other end? I feel kind of bad for you always ending up on those red-eyes!
Thank you for sharing!
Another great excursion!... And another mainline flight to SYR, no less!...
DTW is a really nice airport to transfer at, modern and convenient. And still in the Eastern time zone.
Thanks for sharing!
Wow, another cool day-excursion!... Interesting that SYR would have so many mainline flights...
There's something about these domestic flights amid the snow... as homely as apple pie... Thanks for sharing!
Sounds like another cool excursion!... I usually find the E175s to be bumpy at the slightest air chop, for some reason.
Thanks for sharing!
Another cool day trip!... I guess you're not much into cabin/interior shots, though?...
Thanks for sharing!
Wow, so you basically just booked a joyride across the continent and back? Even so, why didn't you stay one night at an airport hotel at the other end in order to catch up on rest and such?... At any rate, thank you for sharing!Jump to post
Sorry to hear about the rude treatment from the flight attendants - so disheartening.
That said, thank you for sharing such a great and down-to-earth trip report.
Thank you for this cool and interesting trip report of a domestic hop... I thought that United now offers the full Premium Economy service in Premium Plus even for domestic flights - but perhaps that's only for the PS service between EWR and LAX/SFO. Here's what one reviewer was served on a 787 PE f...Jump to post

Really? So you're saying that AC is charging for seat selection and checked luggage on a full Y fare? I agree with Mr. Wildcat. Firstly, Air Canada is not a blood sucking operation. Secondly the US3 tend to be more dispised by just about every person on the planet outside the United States. I don’t...Jump to post
First, let there be no doubt: Air Canada is a government-propped-up blood sucking operation. Domestic fares are highway-robbery level, and the nickel-and-diming would put even the US3 to shame. I have no particular horse in that game, as I am US based, but I do feel sorry for my Canadian friends and...Jump to post
Great review, if a bit over-pictured.
I recently visited Lisbon as well, and found it to be nicer and less pretentious than, say, Barcelona. Glad you enjoyed your trip, and thanks for sharing.
That kind of advanced toilet is called a bidet, and should be standard anywhere. Who wants to travel with residual crap in their butt? ... Anyway, thank you for reviewing ANA, easily one of the best carriers in the world.Jump to post
Thank you for this! It's inspiring me to consider ICN as a transfer hub for my Asia travels. The schedules from SFO to Asia via ICN didn't used to be great, but now I see that KE and OZ both have better itineraries that don't necessarily require a day's stopover at Seoul... Again, great report and a...Jump to post

Great trip report!... Taxis in Sweden are so expensive, do they have Über there nowadays?... And how hard would it be for ET's map to say Norrköping? lol... In all their simplicity, gotta love these local/regional trip reports. And wow, at first I though you were catching that United plane back on your return trip!... Thanks for sharing.Jump to post
Great reading!... In the prior decade, I was a CX fan - but now I'm more agnostic when it comes to choice of carrier from N.A. to Asia. Good to see that they still do a proper bar service before handing out meals, which not all airlines do. I have a segment coming up with them in a couple of months ...Jump to post
That kind of itinerary is a prime example of setting oneself up for failure lol!
That said, it made for an exciting trip report - thanks for sharing!
Great domestic trip report - thanks! Only thing to consider is to downsize those pictures. Those I sampled were 4032x3024 pixels, or 1.8MB. They will not all load in my browser at the same time, neither on the handheld or desktop. Just consider scaling them down to 800x600 or at least 1024x768 next ...Jump to post

Always appreciate reading your thorough trip reports here; thanks for sharing!
Nice review. I deliberately included this route myself as part of an itinerary from SFO to Canada r/t recently to get widebody and to try out their newly installed A330 premium economy section. Usual AA service mediocrity, but great hard product. Available until the third of March when it switches o...Jump to post
The problem is the wind. Wet runways, winds [email protected] means maximum crosswind components are exceeded, hence the diversions. Can't use the crosswind runway (10/28), as that runway has been closed for 1 year now, and will only temporarily reopen this spring for a few months only. Forecast is calling fo...Jump to post
Although my exposure to SilkAir is limited - and in coach only - I was never that impressed with either their service or (certainly not) value for money. Very nice and detailed TR, as usual from you. :) Although I haven't taken Etihad myself, everything I've read about it online indicates that perhaps the reason it is receding faster than the other ME3 is a lack of operational reliability and a bad transfer experience at AUH, which is causing quite a...Jump to post

"After the uncomfortable ride into the city on BART, there was no way I was going to take BART back to the airport no matter how much cheaper it is." US carriers are over-hubbed. So the the question should be turned around: which current city (next) has the potential to be de-hubbed?Jump to post
Thank you YCP81 for sharing this thorough and engaging trip report! And your destination photos were so spectacular and colorful. It's probably the best TR I've seen here in months. Somehow, I tend to get underwhelmed when I fly SQ - but I think that may also have something to do with my setting exp...Jump to post
Agree that this is a step back for AC. The narrower cabin width of the 737 won't really matter much in Business Class - but in Coach, that's an inch less from an already narrow seat. Add to that the mediocre (albeit consistent) service and high fares of AC and, well, it's not a good combo. And yes, ...Jump to post

This site used to be the go-to place for anything aviation, but now I rarely visit. Trip reports used to be comprehensive, with beginning-to-end narratives and ample picture documentation - but now mostly, the entries are simply teasers with offsite links. That's why I truly appreciated your trip re...Jump to post
What the hell are you talking about? No it was not clear, which was why we were all commenting about airports with the "tiniest cross border flights". OK, folks slow your roll a bit. Let's limit this to intercontinental flights. If you do that then only the bay area and NYC have 3 and NYC only does if you count SWF. South Florida has two. DC has two if you include BWI. Boston has two if you include PVD (I don't - I consider PVD its own market). O...Jump to post
