AM can't have 787s flying to CUN and TIJ all days. It's better to use them in this new routes. More over, the day Boeing starts deliverying 787s again, they'll get 4 more and those have to be deployed somewhere (Asia will take longer to reopen) and maybe, they can also take later on some used frames...
