I agree. I can't understand the seemingly lack of common sense of passengers who "dress down" for a flight. I don't think we need to go back to the 1950's and 60's custom of suits and ties, but a modicum of decency would be appropriate.

Kind of off topic (should I start a new thread?) but I've long wondered where Iranian Boeing pilots get recurrent/sim training. Aeroflot and Air Koryu don't have 727 or 747 aircraft, and I doubt the crews go to Seattle, so how do they get their training? I would guess in-house for actual flight time...

Lear 25B - turbojets, not fans and a 6200 fpm max climb rate. Of course doing this tends to set off noise sensors around airports.

Not too long ago I was at KHHR to greet our Lear when it landed after a job. Right after engine shutdown I put my hand on the pitot tube (no particular reason, just not thinking about it). The burn blisters took a couple of weeks to heal. Lesson learned.

I've flown in a company Lear with Tom McMurtry, former director of flight ops at NASA, test pilot and 747 Shuttle Carrier pilot/project coordinator. Lots of Google entries for him. Also flew F-104's, SR-71 and many more. Great guy.
