Re: A350 (alleged) FWD C.G issues

Still your claims are baseless. With 85 tonnes of fuel the index moves forward around -220 index units (it’s zero at around 65 tonnes). To counter that all you need is 30 passengers in economy. Deciding not to load the aircraft correctly by putting light baggage containers in the aft hold is hardly...

Re: A350 (alleged) FWD C.G issues

Very much so. Light loads, premium heavy forward cabins, and longhaul flights do not mix well. Seems to be more apparent on the A359 having offloaded many pallets of freight and cargo ULDs in my experience. Often times we cannot make use off all payload available, nor cargo volume since we hit the ...

Re: Should UA start its own EWR-DXB nonstop?

From someone who works at IAD currently, there are a lot of Iraq bound contractors, and military personnel traveling on OS to EBL on UA codeshares. The DXB service was cut when B6 landed the GSA contract and codeshared them on EK. Shortly after landing the contract EK upped their service to IAD from...

Re: Current record for aircraft with most flight hours/cycles?

Going over N853FD a Fedex 777 delivered in 2009, as of November 2015 the Flight hours report as 252, however 3,718 cycles. Can anyone explain how this is possible?

Re: Possible New Air India Routes

Baltimore to Delhi OK bear with me, this may sound like an awkward route but I think it is better than IAD to DEL for a multitude of reasons: --Most of DC metro Indian diaspora is in Maryland, north of Interstate 495 --BWI is actually only 2 miles further from central DC than IAD --It is 38 miles c...

Re: B744 engines

I believe UA's decision to operate an all PW fleet stemmed from the DC-10 accident destroying relations between GE and UA.

The green coating someone correct me if I'm wrong is an, abradable coating for blade tip to casing clearance. Its pretty common on PW 4000 engines.

Re: United Extends Lease at IAD

The underground train and underground security area were completely unnecessary. The moon buggies worked just fine. You checked in on the second floor, walked 100 feet if that to security on the second floor, walked 100 feet if that and boarded your moon buggy on the second floor (which you waited ...
