LHR-BOS & JFK & EWR. Possibly CDG as well. 10 aircraft used Ships 065-074, with international 1st class of the day. Absolutely terrible at carrying any payload westbound.... chopped freight and pax seats blocked out was very much the order of the day.! Used to vent fuel when fuelling to the ...

Good questions and thread.
All I can tell you from my personal experience, was that I flew HAM - TXL on N806PA in Sept 86.... with a walk up fare of 54DM... about £18 at the time....
Plane was empty... 30 people tops.
(Return was on a PA 732, same fare...)

I saw that article. Can't believe BA pay some CC £70k and others £28k ... The legacy fleet should have been dealt with years ago . Zero sympathy. It’s called seniority .... Those people on the top bucks deserve every penny. They’ve helped put the company where it is today, and for the past 30 years...

BA Cargo, Iberia Cargo, and Aer Lingus Cargo were all merged to form IAG Cargo a number of years ago. I work for BA Cargo on a BA contract but with all branding, management, sales, etc made at IAG level. Very sad to hear of the trials of current BA staff. I worked for BA in Europe for 29 years, and was made redundant 3 years ago, along with nearly all the locally employed engineers. Luckily I was about a year from retirement, so I retired earlier than expected. But even then the shock and uncertain...

I called forgetting gear down a couple of days ago, but, no one seemed to take me seriously....
Anyway, what’s even more astonishing , is that they managed to scrape the aircraft for around 2500ft Along a runway, on its two motors, and then take off again.... Totally mind blowing decision making.!!!

For now, the 77W is bringing in useful and substantial amounts of cash from cargo. As I understand it, the profit from these flights is made by IAG cargo, and not BA. They are just paid the operating costs, with IAG Cargo being the Company that benefits, and shows on the yearly returns at IAG Mansi...
