FR pretty much killed SK on the LON-GOT route. BA dropped the route after 9/11… even after they couldn’t make it work from LGW. When theyreintroduced LHR -GOT, the writing was on the wall for SK. God knows why they couldn’t make it work. Have flown SK , LHR-GOT on hundred of flights, and never once ...Jump to post

Change title of thread from “Orthodox Jews” to “passengers”please….
Can’t have all the weirdos on here jumping in the racism band wagon.
ZAPX is planned Venice and Tenerife

With the demise of the BA source, I came across this gem, that some people might like.
Also ,heard the strong rumours re the Titan 757’s op out of LGW.
Right at the top of this thread, a well respected member,”Cedarjet” called them Air Chance.
I rest his case.
So so many AF incidents should get Bells ringing.!!!!
It’s Simply Flying articles that don’t make sense.Jump to post
A bit more info for you on BA’s 789
Just like they outsourced passenger handling at their biggest airports which are useless when the operation falls over. 3rd party handlers are paid the bare minimum and you get what you pay for. FYI Skip, Every handler at LHR is paying more than BA are paying their new hires now. And they were recr...Jump to post
This is probably the best out there, but not so many airlines, but they’re adding to it all the time.
That’s around the ball park… £60 per hour, however, BA already offer double time for any overtime worked in the past 6-7 weeks, as they’re that short of staff. And because of this , a lot of staff are smashing it, and will already be on long days, and probably have no appetite to stay on any longer....Jump to post
Pretty sure that range of flight numbers are freighter's.Jump to post
IIRC, Flybe mk 1 we’re just short of keeping their LHR slots that BA have them to use for 3 years..think they missed out on keeping them by around 4-5 weeks. Otherwise, I would have thought Flybe Mk 2 would’ve ran the UK domestics similar to before,… less competition than AMS. Unsure what their rati...Jump to post
While the long haul routes out of T3 have been highlighted, I’d thought I’d mention the large amount of Short haul moving over too. Yes yes, I get that, and tbf, I used to enjoy using them out of LHR just to avoid the boring 320’s etc.
However, they went tits up owing lots of £££ to passengers /investors and staff.
So like I said why would anyone trust them with £40ish when there’s 47 other options to get you to AMS.
Are they Mad…?
I did a random one way flight search for May 27th.
Between 0600-2100, EasyJet , KLM , BA , BACF have 47 departures from STN/LTN/LGW/LCY/LHR.
Why on earth would someone fly on FlyBe 2.0 with a known track record of taking your £££.?
Wow… scratching the grey matter now World was pretty much all DC10’s by mid-late 80’s Transamerica DC8’s DC10’s, think the 742’s had moved on. Capitol, DC8’s DC10’s… Other options might be Arrow Air, they also did a stack of US Military work. Unless you can pinpoint specifics from your parents, the ...Jump to post
IAG & SK are not the right fit.
And to be fair SK are quite a basket case airline… too many wrong moves and wonky decisions.
IAG and AY are the more compatible /desirable option IMHO.
Nope… Rossiya’s 747’s we’re Always flying down to Hurghada and Sharm.
Infact XLC is there now, with XLF just about to arrive in DXB
Now they’ll end their days in the Russian wilderness awaiting parts.
You’re not quite there. Stand 131 refers to TF3 & TF4 Stand 135 refers to TF5. Believe the reason they also use stand numbers is that they can be accessed from the ATC controlled airport. i.e. ATC will giving you instructions to these stands either via Alpha for TF5/135 or Link 28 for TF3 & ...Jump to post

You say well cared for , but I guess that APU was kaput, as they’re waiting for the mobile GPU to turn up before turning off the motors.
And a open thrust reverser , could also be a bit problematic if not sorted sooner rather than later.
But superb footage.!
AA90 is/was a great flight.
Crewed with very high seniority too.
Daylight to LHR-Sleep- Daylight to ORD as the 91.
AA have previously run daylight as per
AA142 PHL then JFK
That’s not exactly true…. I nearly always by pass the secondary BP scan when you reach the front of the security queue. It a HAL system to monitor how long it takes you for getting thru the entrance gate of security to the end of the line before you throw your bag through the X-ray machine. BA have ...Jump to post
With BA having over 50% of the available LHR slots, juggling them around with AA’s 22/23.? Won’t be a problem to consolidate timings.Jump to post
That schedule is pretty much ideal.
Everyone would love to see it happen.
Will it…? $64m question.
Or rather $1b dollar question.
I’m trying to rack my brain… I don’t remember BA ever using these as combis… did they ever.? I don’t even remember a BA MDL being around in the ramp to unload them. Same as the two MEA frames, I don’t recall those being used in Combi mode. Maybe as mentioned up thread , BA just got a really good dea...Jump to post
Can be a bit more specific.
Flew ARN- LPI & vv half a dozen times over the period of a year, and was always on a Sal Air SF340A , SE-ISK.
And they had plenty of Saabs.
No pax or crew on Aircraft Was preparing to tow off after arrival. Someone clearly had to release the brakes. Unsure whether a TBL or Conventional Tug was used. If TBL, no brake rider. As DCA350 mentioned upthread, weak point broke to protect the frame. Totally fixable. Most importantly , no one hur...Jump to post
Off topic , but raising a reply to AA and paint.
aA used to fly there A300s painted originally, before going to the classic all silver look for them.
Indeed, the 787 purchase promised a revised and updated branding from AA.
