It doesn't happen anymore, but I've been on a DL 763 flying from MIA-FLL. You literally climb out, and are immediately on final after a couple of quick turns.Jump to post
With AUS landing KLM 3x per week, I wonder if RDU was at least in the discussion for similar service. AUS and RDU are similar as DL focus cities...and they're up to 5 TATL flights now. With existing CDG service, I'm not sure if adding another SkyTeam European hub would make much sense. RDU is a gro...Jump to post
I looked back quite a bit in the thread, so excuse if this is a repeat - RDU to JAX on DL

I dropped my wife and son off for a flight to Orlando at 5 a.m. I know it's fairly common for many aircraft to be on remote stands in the morning. However, I was surprised to see how many were at RDU. Does anyone know exactly how many aircraft RON at RDU?Jump to post
Unfortunately some part of me still feels the best chance for a TATL is still someone like Air Serbia who has been growing and used to fly here ( Yugoslav ) to Belgrade , but that wouldn’t be a connection type service , mostly local ! Was it to Belgrade? Or Ljubljana? I seem to remember the JAT DC-...Jump to post
Can’t believe a CSA area of 3.4 million can’t get one TATL! is the economy that bad ??? Maybe John Dorsey would be willing to run CLE airport as well!! Anyhow, I thought I'd point out on the ribbon on a.net for this thread, the banner reads: British Airway from PIT - your direct flight to London an...Jump to post
Why would anyone in Detroit drive to Cleveland when Detroit still has WW to Europe? EI will not match that in price. It doesn't matter...EI hasn't announced KCLE, and likely won't for a while. However, the fact someone just blurts out that NO ONE will do it...I think if someone can save thousands, ...Jump to post
I guarantee you no one is going to drive from Detroit to Cleveland to take an EI flight to Dublin. I live in the RDU area (used to live in the FLL/MIA -- as well as CLE -- areas). I have kicked the tires on a TATL flight, and considered driving to IAD or BWI for much, much cheaper flights to Europe...Jump to post

My first flight in 1980 was from CLE-FLL nonstop on a UA 727. I used to fly alone as a kid from FLL, mostly through ATL, although once through PIT, to CLE. Back in the day, FLL used to be very smallish, and it is amazing to see it is like a mini-MIA now. I used to get excited seeing Wardair DC10s, t...Jump to post
Here is a good article, by the way...about BOI and potential future air service:

does anyone know if F9 sells connections over RDU? I checked a one-way flight for May 2 -- and you can fly BDL-RDU-JAX, sold on the F9 website for $110. The connection is for 3 hr 41 min in RDU -- but they do, in fact, sell connections through Raleigh/Durham. Also, just for fun...May 7 -- PHL-RDU-J...Jump to post
FWIW, the 'BIG' announcement two years ago on Facebook 'live' was Virgin America to SFO (March 9, 2017) and it seems like they also did Delta's RDU-AUS on the same day.
Last February they announced F9 'live' on Facebook moving to 15 destinations from RDU...adding BUF, HOU, MKE, MSY, SAT and SJU.
I have never flown AS, but would love to give them a shot on RDU-SEA. They sound like a great airline. But I think for a lot of East Coast people, they only associate them with AS...don't know they took over VX, have a rather extensive network, etc. Anyway, just looking at it from the casual travele...Jump to post
I know all of us here on A.net know AS is much more than an Alaskan or West Coast network, but the name 'Alaska' doesn't do them any favors. I think AS should totally rebrand itself. Yes, people can do research...and WN seems to do all right despite not being limited to 'just' the Southwest...but it...Jump to post
Out of curiousity, do commercial airliners ever need to use runway 10/28? Or is it mostly general aviation? This is a LONG time ago...but I have flown into KCLE many, many times over the years. I lived in Cleveland, then flew home from Florida and North Carolina to NE Ohio for many years, too. I be...Jump to post

Looks like AA70, the B777, took off, and then a FX1346, an A306, was right behind it for departure. For a brief second, it was like the 80's or early 90's at KCLE - lol. Wow...and UPS1445, a 757, was right before the Triple 7. More editing to this post...wow, late night is where it is at for CLE tod...Jump to post
if you bothered looking at the Austin thread, you'd see this is already widely discussed. In fact, that blog picked up on what that thread discussed. What a jerk of a response. Surely it’s a nicer way to respond to people. Geez! Agreed. It's typical of the decorum on social media. Everyone loves to...Jump to post
Jetpixx that would be so much more than a terminal A connector. Brand new FIS from scratch in a building that is currently shut down and not built for mainline aircraft? Does this really need a thread? I found it interesting, and I live near RDU -- nowhere near GRB. Is it big news for people in larger cities? Checking out the DL schedule for Tuesday, Dec. 13 -- I see 12 non-stops between RDU-ATL. Is this one of the largest amount of flights between Atlanta and one of their non-hub stations?
