As yeelep mentioned. It's MINUTES.... it's based off of the Phonetic Alphabet. Mike is what you would use on the radio for the letter "M". It's still very common usage in the military today.

On long haul or short haul always a window seat, just not over the wing. The only exception is on MD-80's there is just something special about a window seat as far forward as possible, the plane is actually very quite.

This strikes me as rather odd. I just left active duty, and in 5 years I have never had a foreign customs agent step on board an a/c, much less look around. At my former home station sometimes customs were there and met the plane. A couple of times they never even bothered to show up.

Any Sort of bleed air ducting. There is one in specific in the C-130 engine, known as the "F" stack that is a major pain in the butt due to access issues. I've often wondered if the people who designed it have ever tired to install one on the wing, or any part for that matter.

I-80 across wyoming is very boring once your west of Laramie. If you pick up US-287 just east of Denver and head south toward Amarillo it is painfully long and boring. Passing through the small towns were it drops from 60 to 35 mph every 30 miles or so is painful and very time consuming.

ZRH-LAX on Great Circle Mapper shows a distance of 5938 miles, pretty close to what the AVOD shows. Since actually flight paths vary due to WX, and Traffic etc. I'd Assume the system has great circle distances between airports programed, as more of general information.
