Re: Azul awarded CGH slots

Checked their website. Although it is great to have them on the Ponte Aerea, thier prices are quite high. I am booked to fly LATAM between SDU and CGH for 1/2 of the price Azul is offering now. And I know GOL's tickets are not far off from LATAM's too too. I booked last night SDU-CGH mid September....

Re: Aigle Azur at risk of ceasing operations

Azul it`s not taking the Paris route for basic reasons: - LF its good but not that good - No partner at Paris both CDG or ORY - The former A330 from O6 it`s now a spare airplane, in the last weeks Azul used a lot of HiFly planes to rescue A330 grounded flights. I rather see AD flying to SCL or NYC a...

Are the E2s usually painted that early in the production process? Or may be the question should be: are the wings attached so late in the production process? The video has just been posted and shows Helvetic's first E2 (judging by the registration HB-AZA that's briefly visible in the video) which i...

I care only for statistics. Statistics say that Argentina and NYC are relatively safe and that Brazil is much more dangerous. Well.. I bet the chances of you getting shot at a school or shopping mall or a nightclub are higher in the US , whereas pickpocketing may be higher in Brazil. Most of the cr...

And about violence in Rio, I don't go there anymore (unless if I drive by car to be with my gun which I got legally). It's safe? yes at some point, but you don't want to travel a place to relax and enjoy and in the sametime be worried to not be robbed. For instance: Azul, GOL and LATAM (and Avianca ...

Re: More US-Brazil flights?

Why does north-south flying reduce utilization? For carriers that rely on connecting traffic, a flight departing the US for S.America departs in the evening to capture connections. It has nothing to do with connections. TAP, the largest foreign carrier in Brazil does not operate red-eyes in both di...

David don't care about because the auction will be nullified!

Actually the SDU and GRU slots got already redistributed and the CGH ones will be soon after a public hearing.

Also the justice said that is legal to redistributed among the existing airlines.

Re: TAP schedules first non stop A321LR service between Europa and South America

The one issue that I see about using this aircraft on Brazilian routes is space for all the luggage. Brazil has a law requiring all airlines to allow 2 free checked bags, but I'm sure TAP has done their math. Not the case anymore! Air France even has the "lite" fee option now with no chec...

Would TAP be able to launch new destinations in Northern Brazil with the A321LR? I recall Joao Pessoa had TACV flights for a while (it seems they are gone). Re: LATAM Argentina may cancel EZE-MIA route if conflict with unions is not resolved

It’s also hard to see a global tendency of interchange “becoming more commonplace” when there seems to be no other relevant airline around the world than LATAM strongly lobbying for this. Very close to Argentina there are two: 1. Avianca interchanges planes across its subsidiaries in Central & ...

Re: Norwegian to fly between MAD & SCL?

It makes a lot of sense. With 477,000 PAX in 2018, MAD-SCL is a virtual monopoly (LATAM+Iberia). It is the largest market to LatAm with no real competition from Madrid. Connecting MAD-SCL somewhere else; there are just not a lot of convenient choices. LATAM via GRU (again LATAM), Avianca via BOG, A...

Since the UK branch already flies LGW-EZE they should fly LGW-GRU & LGW-MEX first in Latin America. Remember in terms of population and economic activity Sao Paulo & Mexico City are #1 & #2. Though VS (Virgin Atlantic) is flying LHR-GRU soon. Actually no, Norwegian already flies LGW-GIG...

Icelandair it's the exactly airline for what the NMA/797 is designed for. But if Boeing get more delays and problems, I would see them going Airbus. They need more planes for themselves and for Cabo Verde Airlines (TACV), and also they are bidding to buy SATA Azores from Portugal.

Another thing is that the A359 cruises at 0.85 compared to 0.82 of the A346. Flight time will be shorter. And with a 30J246Y configuration it’s low density. Also the A350 has quite stellar hot and high performance because of the wing. Actually it's missing 63 seats of Premium Economy. It's the same...

Brazilian here, and my thoughts: - Embraer is realling working with the unions to get around the scope clause, since the number of pax will not change from the E1 to the E2. - If that don't work (Embraer will wait until next year since some contracts will expire between this year and middle of 2020)...

Crazy how there's virtually no lcc competition between Brazil (or deep South America at that) and the US There is. It is called Copa. The fact their hub is in a third country is a mere accident.
