The problem is with companies like ba and Ryanair, is that while they have made record profits the last few years but have not passed it on to the people that made it . Now Ryanair is one of the largest airlines in Europe they should have some of the best t and c . They are way behind in many ways ....

This is blustering and down to union negotiations . It is worth noting that Ryanair pilots are balloting for strike . This action is bullying punishing . Ryanair pilots still don’t have basic benefits that most uk pilots enjoy . If they close bases routes etc I’m sure those slots will be easily fill...

Always thought these aircraft would suit going to military use . Would be good as a tanker / awacs . Think as an acmi will be fine while spares are available . Don’t think fuel burn will be an issue . Looking forward to seeing these great looking aircraft for a while longer

Do Norwegian suffer due to the lack of a proper business class ? Would they be more successful if they had a product like jet blue with a proper lie flat bed . With just 36 premium economy seats margins are too tight

Have heard a rumour that a lot of future slots had been pre allocated . Amongst others that easyJet had Been offered some . Maybe a deal could de done so that a code share could be agreed on some routes

It does raise the question carriers like easyJet and Ryanair have changed a lot from their original blueprint . Ryanair now operates four brand airlines as well as holiday section . EasyJet is also branching out with a re launch of its holiday arm . how Are these carriers going to change in the next...

I remember ba used to have business class seats on Europe that could turn into economy on Hugh dense routes . Could a seat like this be useful? Ie easily re-configable seats .

What is standard config for a 321 210 seats? I can see certain places being able to do with their brand presence from Gatwick such as Florida and Caribbean doing ok . Average sector lengths have grown over the years but possible destinations outside of what they do now seems to be like a big jump in...

I have heard A rumour easy are looking to go to Cape Verde (assume from Gatwick ) are their current a321neo able to get there with a full load ? GC is 2500 miles I imagine add a few looking at 2700 ish

I would say it was unlikely that they will convert any orders to this . However I never saw wizz getting any either . If they did any longer sectors I think it would mostly be holiday destinations sold

Sounds like a break up is probable . I’m sure if the sale of airlines include a number of seats on key routes as part of the deal it would go through . As long as the competition agrees with Lh taking over condor

Didn’t ba get it’s airbuses a320s cheap away back when airbus were struggling by putting in a large order ? I’m sure this is just the same . Maybe a warning shot to airbus to keep future a320 series competitive priced

Pax trying to breach the flight deck is the red line on caa categories . As soon as this was told to atc the highest level of response would have been put in place . I’m not sure if you can get the weight out of Ltn for east coast . Think the most favourable rtow was about 92 t I think these Xlr are for their eastern bases

I wonder what the initial cruise altitude will be at 102t ? I remember being on a flight from pfo in a non shark a321 and initial cruise was only 26 or 28k ft .

It seems strange that airbus did not even get a chance to bid on this contract. Maybe it’s a way of forcing some better pricing out of airbus . Either way the size of iag makes sense to have diff manufacturers as keeps airbus and Boeing in their toes !

Yes but in the winter it’s not that hot there. Probably 20 degrees . Lots of people from UK especially head to warmer places . Caribbean Dubai etc . With the 797 possibly being pushed back might be enough . It’s a shame airbus didn’t have enough resources to redo the a330 as clean sheet composite aircraft to counter 787. Maybe with the demise of the a380 we can see resources pushed in this direction . Ideally a range with 320 321 322 and then 33...

I think what we will see after the airline sale is a slimming down . Store closures and a move to a more online presence . By not having an airline they will be able to hopefully control costs more effectively. One solution might be that Fosun who cannot buy more than 49 percent of the airline goes ...

Saw an interesting article saying that the news by citi wiped 40% off tc groups value might be some underhand move . The company fosun which is touted as taking over the travel arm have strong links to citi banks Asia branch . The move by citi just made the take over 140 million cheaper !

The question is how much is it worth easyJet or Ryanair buying tc UK to stop wizz expanding is another question .
Also if the aviation sector is possibly about to encounter weak economy/ recession and poor exchange rates and rising fuel prices . Is taking on such capacity a huge risk ?

Do mean the UK airline or the whole holiday UK business ?

If I was then I would keep separate and merge wizz UK into same AOC . It’s still a strong brand in the uk . They could even sell flights on different brand websites . This would quadruple their UK interests .

In one source says multiple bids for part and whole of airline . We know Lufthansa and virgin have bid for definite . I guess after share holder meeting we’ll find out who the others are . I imagine indigo is in the mix

Also worth noting that after this incident airbus promptly came up with a training remedy . All crews in sims (certainly in Europe anyway ) were trained in this scenario . Unfortunately due to the fact that there aren’t that many max sims this can’t be done . I do not feel that a 10 minute iPad sess...

There’s been no public sign of easy being interested . It would make sense though now they are not going in to Alitalia with delta . They have the resources spare .
