From FlightAware and news reports, it looks like it was flight 1202 AVL-DEN which returned back to AVL supposedly because of a problem with hydraulics. https://wlos.com/news/local/happening-now-emergency-crews-at-asheville-airport-for-emergency-landing https://flightaware.com/live/flight/AAY1202/his...Jump to post

On a slightly related note, are there any plans to improve the entrance into the airport off I-40? I noticed a week ago Sunday, on the final day of CMA Fest, that traffic waiting to get into the airport backed up onto the interstate past Briley Parkway. I realize that's "Easter Sunday" for...Jump to post
Here's a story from a couple of days ago on RDU's 11th airline that never arrived, Via Air: https://www.newsobserver.com/news/local/article231624518.html. There's nothing in the story that most of us didn't already know (this business model was always going to be a pipe dream), but I think we can sa...Jump to post
I hope that once WN has the gates, they'll finally make the big push to effectively make BNA their big Southeast "not-a-hub hub", adding GSP, RIC, LIT, MEM, and BHM. Outside the Southeast, PDX, IND, SLC, BDL, and maybe one of SNA or ONT would make sense as adds. Internationally....plus PU...Jump to post
I have always believed that there are four markets left unserved that could have potential. LAL is one of those, especially with the business traffic that the area is going to see. DL isn’t likely to bite but I would place LAL, OCF, UST and VRB in the category of markets with some potential. Looks ...Jump to post
DL served Naples and Marathon from ATL pre-recession. While every market is different, DL hasn't attempted anything to smaller Florida markets since then.Jump to post
Just after casually looking at the daily arrivals/departures on FR24, I noticed something peculiar with Allegiant. Upon further research, looking at Allegiant's route map and through dummy-booking, it looks like RDU has lost service to PIE and VPS, and all other services to MSY, PGD, and MSY are M/...Jump to post
Given the power of DL in ATL and the airport itself, ATL needn't worry about being landlocked. It will find the room it needs to expand for years to come.Jump to post

I also believe that DL intentionally directs as much traffic thru ATL as possible, even if it might be considered "out of the way" for some travelers. Anecdotally, while waiting for bags to be delivered at customs at ATL and connecting elsewhere, it always amazes me the bag tags I see for ...Jump to post

This is interesting, and interesting that these flights are going to ONX. It's still about 75 minutes by car from there to Corolla without traffic, and over 2 hours in the summer (until the Mid Currituck Bridge gets built).Jump to post

I grew up in Little Rock and still remember seeing it fly overhead. It made a pass around the city, which allowed a lot more people to see it than if it had just gone straight into LIT.Jump to post
No AA cuts at JFK this week? What will we all do without our weekly debate about the future of AA at the former Idlewild?
Thanks for your work on this every week, enilria!
Here are a some quick thoughts to consider. 2. Nashville's GDP is approximately 60% larger than the Research Triangle's GDP which could generate higher yields at BNA. There are actually two metro areas that comprise the Research Triangle, Raleigh and Durham/Chapel Hill. Combined, their GDP is about...Jump to post
As I was speaking to the Delta reps their jaws dropped....I told them that I heard that the Delta lounge at BNA is being increased by 10,000 sq ft and that it was bigger than Indy's and Raleigh's which is a focus city (they were very surprised I knew that Raleigh was a focus city, but I thought it ...Jump to post

ELP is the farthest west DL spoke not to have a connection to another DL hub, right? Certainly the largest market, too? As another poster noted, DL has been off and on the ELP-SLC route for years. That seems mostly true but doesn't apply to CRW. Only larger airport around 2 hours away is slightly larger LEX, they get cut too. CVG, CMH & PIT are all 3-3.5 hour drive away and CLT 4 hours. If permanent, this leaves UA with only 3x to ORD on a normal day from CRW as IAD was cut in Feb. Some ...Jump to post

So my question is...is it that much cheaper for F9 to start service at Brookley and wait for the full transition of all air service from MOB? Or is this just about being closer to the center of the catchment area from the time they start service? Is F9 bearing any of the cost of the new temporary te...Jump to post
It's intriguing, but I'd be more inclined to think this was a reasonable possibility if a large international airport just 80 minutes up the road didn't already offer multiple flights a day to Germany, capturing much of the region's demand for travel to Frankfurt and Munich (there are numerous busin...Jump to post

I was just reading another thread about schedule changes/updates and that G4 will be starting DEN-AVL three times a week.
