Someone enlighten me....why do they punish their top carrier (WN), who presumably brings them the most revenue etc., but keeps reducing their slot count each year? Seems to me the process is too arbitrary.
Jump to postThis is, I believe, the only active thread about WN to HI and I wanted to re-post something that I just posted elsewhere that I think might relate to the question of connecting service to destinations beyond the gateways on the west coast (CA.) Since red-eyes are not yet offered by WN, can pax get ...
Jump to postYou guys talk as if this is it. Yeah we see network limitations with this initial rollout but they haven’t even rolled out the rest of the announced cities yet. They have clearly stated there’s more to come and their goal is to bring opportunities to everyone. Exactly!! To echo this and other simil...
Jump to post"Paine Field Update Southwest also today announced it has entered into an agreement with Alaska Airlines to transfer the carrier's slot access to an under-construction passenger terminal at Paine Field (PAE). Jump to postEnjoyed the report! I like the bonus info on the aircraft routings you included...always fun to know where they've been and where they're going!

Great report! Nice to see a change to a GA trip report. Good job with the details, photos, and navigating safely.
Jump to postEnjoyed the report. It reminded me that I need to try Allegiant, and that I've got to get to Utah. Looks gorgeous.

Thank you, this is the Waco I know. All of this talk of increasing flights for Waco was throwing me off. Outside of Baylor what is there at Waco, and please do not the Dr. Pepper Museum. We are talking about Waco, Texas, right? Well there is SpaceX just south of Waco where they flight test their ro...
Jump to postFantastic report! Really enjoyed the photos. That's quite a haul in one day. Just got back from Maui week before last, a few days before they started the new A321 service. Glad you got to experience the new plane.

Delta Airlines (PDX-CDG) If Indianapolis can get a IND-CDG (Paris, France) route, then I think that DL could make the route work very well for PDX (with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft). Even if the route was only seasonal, I think it would do very well, overall... Maybe Air France (AF) could take on the...

Jump to postI don't know if this will be scoffed at or not - I'm not an expert and don't pretend to be - but their entry, and perhaps more importantly, AA's exit from BK was extremely well-timed to put them in a competitive situation with when the Wright Amendment was repealed and their cross-town neighbor WN w...

A good answer to all this guy's posts.
DAL will keep both DCA,LGA,SFO & LAX. Dropping DAL-LAS But add SAN,SEA,PDX & SJC to the west. I see them adding ORD,BOS,JFK and MIA. This would make DAL a nice focus city. The small increase of flights from DAL wouldn't affect AA much. WN is Maxed out at DAL so responding to increased compe...
Jump to postTo me, its not about DAL, but the slots at DCA and LGA. DCA slots are in-perimeter as are all LGA slots of course (Saturday exceptions IIRC). So, does AS want to keep them at DAL, or switch them to another city more geographically optimized to flow to the entire west coast? I agree, and disagree. I...

WN dropping PDX-HOU (and SEA-HOU)...looks like time for AS to add PDX-IAH. And they're down to one daily SEA-SAN...why bother? They've already pulled out of SEA-SNA, are dropping BNA and MKE (seasonal reductions?). It seems their SEA schedule is getting less and less. I know for certain that the PD...
Jump to postI think Tilden is going to shoot himself in the foot by not giving the A321s a chance. The aircraft has proven is superiority over the 900er. I just think it's asinine. We were told that they would evaluate the Airbus fleet and that it would be around for a long while. But it seems that Alaska is p...
Jump to postFWIW....friend of mine spoke to an AS employee last week on her flight from LAS to SEA and he said AS plans on keeping VX's ops at DAL and AS's single gate at DFW as well. Not really sure how that'll work but we'll find out soon enough If the above turns out to be true, I can't help but wonder if t...

Jump to postThey have a decent-sized fleet of E-jets...wondering why they wouldn't use an E170 on this route.
Jump to postI suppose I should've clarified my question with the assumption that all operational requirements (ETOPS, etc.) are met prior to announcing the route. That assumption is the whole ball game. The expense and time required to be able to serve the market doesn't make financial sense when there are oth...
Jump to post[/quote]They can't just jump on and give it a try. ETOPS approval is a significant investment for an already competitive market. Jump to postOk, so to pursue a tangent thought related to this thread... I mentioned specifically B6 and NK in the opening post as not flying to Hawaii. Jump to postHello, I haven't posted in quite a while, but this topic just got me thinking and I hope it's worthwhile for the forum.
