There is no doubt AZ messed up, but there is also no doubt the EU is diverting attention. Diverting attention from what? I would like to see some facts for this kind of unsubstantiated opinions. Ans please something better than UK-based facts, thank you. I read a lot and living in the EU, I simply ...Jump to post

According to the Daily Mail (I know I Know), Europe is sitting on 7+million of unused AZ vaccine across it's member states. That is a failure of epic proportion and Europe should be ashamed of themselves. But If Europe wants to blockade vaccines, it may not mean much in the end.. Britain's reliance ...Jump to post
They may still be refusing the AZ vaccine through failing to keep up with the data but so what? It is not the only vaccine available. What counts is vaccinating people with the available supplies. Now if AZ was the only vaccine available and large numbers of people were refusing it, so delaying her...Jump to post
Wife had her first dose of the AZ vaccine this morning. Nice, orderly and quick at the vaccine hub (local Pharmacy) with plenty of volunteers to aid with parking and pre vaccine questions. 5 minute wait in the queue, and as the wifey wasn't driving let go straight away after the jab. I know I keep g...Jump to post
I can only speak from experience in my area, but we have a few vaccination centres, and I've never seen them socially distanced queuing out the door. I'm sure there is plenty of slack in the system to ramp up even further than the current rate of between 250,000 - 500,000 per day. Hope they start t...Jump to post
Been playing around with some data if anyone's interested. I've taken the Scottish Governments leaked supply data, and scaled it for the UK. Then taken the UK governments weekly vaccination data . I've used them to project the vaccination rates until the end of May. Assumptions: 7.5 million vaccine...Jump to post
85% for Pfizer and 94% for Astrazeneca, for efficacy in preventing hospitalisation. Absolutely no suprise to anyone who's been paying attention. Just got to hope it will do the trick against the SA variant when that inevitably becomes entrenched. Yet you read in the papers, that people in mainland ...Jump to post

All 400m at cost. Section 7.4 of the contract. Please supply a source for the EU funding development of the Oxford Vaccine? An upfront payment for production facilities in the EU is not the same. Secondly it focusses on EU anger at vaccines being sent abroad without pointing out the fact it can be legitimate. Unlike other vaccines the AZ one is produced at cost (as per the contract), Only the first batch is produce at cost as repayment for EU investment in the vaccine development. It's a pr...Jump to post

Interesting. But somebody needs to be asking a different question. When the EU have made it very clear they really want the Pfizer vaccine, they don't think the efficacy of the AZ vaccine is good enough and Pfizer have also let them down on deliveries. I'm going to have my say on this... This all stems back to last year when the UK opted out of the EU vaccine procurement programme, deciding to go it alone and finance various vaccine options. The UK was quick off the mark in securing over 360million doses of then potential vaccines from various pha...Jump to post
But will they get the vaccine doses ? Germany started fast then had to close vaccination centers because there were no more doses available. Had an e-mail from P&O this afternoon, our cruise for 2021 has been cancelled.
Same conditions as before, full refund or an enhanced future cruise credit of 125%.
Not really disappointed, as I knew it would be a long shot for the holiday.
So now looking forward to 2022.

Labour have pledged to plant 2 Billion trees in 20 years. Now if my maths is correct, this is over 273,000 trees per day?
