For a plane with 530+ orders since its launch in 2005, while the A321/737-800 where already there, its actually doing quite good..

If u compare it to the 737-900, which didn't sell well at all, the modifications can be called a succes i think!

RE: Accelerated Retirements Of Modern A/c Types

Its kinda sad, isn't it? The world has changed.. changes in fuel prices, relative low prices for new builds (because of A. and B competitiveness) and a new era of planes (upgraded A320/737, 787, A350 etc) makes it often easier to sell them per part and make beer cans out of the remains. RE: Thomson Q&A's - Retiring/Replacing The 767/787's

Overall we will see a significant reduction in the amount of longhaul ac's in the Tui group. This is due to the fact that they expect to be able to do more rotations a week with the 787 compared to the 767's + increased amount of seats. I don't know if this reduction also counts for Thomson, but ove...

Maybe the fact that it performs better at a higher mach. number comes from the fact that the faster a plane is able to fly, the less induced drag it creates. Higher speed also means that the profile drag numer is higher. But probably the plane is so aerodynamic that the extra speed+less induced drag...
