Re: Going out of your way to fly a special type

I've done so a few times. I fly frequently between London and Antigua and there are direct flights, but on a couple occasions I've gone via JFK and YYZ to fly on AA's 77W and AC's 787s just to log the new aircraft types. I also flew MAD-LHR last year to specifically fly BA's new A350 with Club Suite...

Re: 9 abreast 777s

BA (LHR birds), TK, KE, and JL still operate 9 abreast 777s. Some of NHs remain 9-abreast, but I believe they're transitioning to all 10-abreast. BA is or has refurbished their 9 abreast 777s to 10 abreast. Those 9 abreast, although they have wider seats, are truly awful as they are very worn out a...

BA does not sell First seats as Club. The cabin is closed unless there is an overbooking in the other cabins that require the additional space that First would provide. Why does ANU not get the premium 777s then? Its a more upscale destination. Sandals is an upper tier mass market resort, aimed directly to the middle class, who want a quality resort. It's the well-heeled leisure passengers who have the money to do so, and the fact that St Lucia has three Sandals resorts whilst Antigua has one may suggest that it's the rich St Lucia traffic which made BA put 772s with First class cabins on the route.
