Re: Most overrated aircraft?

The A350 has an inch wider seats (that's 2 inches extra between you and your seatmate. 18" seats are standard across the Airbus fleet. 17" seems to be standard across the Boeing fleet (767 and 777 in a 3-3-3 config excepted). The 787 is a great plane, but Boeing definitely dropped the bal...

Have they quietly cancelled it, just delayed delivery or was it always due to arrive about 2 years after the previous last frame ?

Virgin Atlantic have no more 787s on order.

compared to B777x? By the time b787-9 do come, most long routes will be flying B777x or A380, both with 18 inch seats... The 777X has the same seat width as the 787. Both the 787 and 777X can have same seats as the A350. In a real world configuration, other than JAL which airline has B787 Y seat co...

Honestly, the plane EK is looking for here is A359, it would be perfect for smaller N.American cities, providing range and comfort (the only thing B789 lack for 15-16 hour flight in Y). The difference between the seats of A380 and say B789 is too much and will dilute their product further. Dilute t...

Maybe the A350s will do the routes where SQ judges that pax may be more sensitive to the compromised 9 abreast seating in the 7810. Same 18" Y seats as the 787-10 (and new A380 for that matter). I don't thnk that's even mathematically possible and not in line with anything I've read e.g. And t...

Ok so the answer is, no the 779 cannot have 18" wide seats at 10 abreast. Thanks. With 18” aisle. Shrink the aisles to 17” (current 10Y 777 aisle widths) and you get 2 more inches...or an extra 0.2” a seat giving 18” seats. uh? As you said, the aisle is already 17" on a 10-abreast 777. Yo...

Re: Which Frame Will Be More Efficient....The A35J or the 779?

The A350 at 9 across does not need 1,5" wide armrest and a very narrow aisle, to provide a 18" seat. Not a very narrow aisle, but it does need 1.5” wide armrests. How exactly do you think Airbus is fitting ~1” wider seats on the A350 vs 787 when the A350’s cabin is only ~5” wider? With th...
