One of the bigger benefits is that AA will be strictly enforcing appearance and uniform standards now...gone will be the sloppy mix and match, the lanyards with pins all over them that looked like they worked at TGI Fridays, and grooming standards are going to be enforced...finally.

Sitting on too much cash is not in stockholders best interests, the cash reserves are enough to service the debt, but in most cases that debt is working harder to generate revenue than money sitting in the bank...pretty basic business principles here folks.

Looks like AA169 made a u-turn about a 1/3 in to its flight to NRT. Back to LAX. If an emergency, why not back to a closer airport?

I am really failing to see the problem here. There was a failure of some sort, the window broke, by design the window handled the failure and the pilots executed a specified emergency procedure that saved the lives of all onboard...how is this grounds for a lawsuit? I think UA will continue to focus on US domestic as that’s the stronger of the two market catagories. One move UA could make that was lightly talked about in another thread last week was jumping into P2P domestic flying. A combo of CS100/300 aircraft would be perfect for such an endeavor. I think UA is taking steps in the right direction, but the gap it created for itself is quite wide. I put zero faith in JD Power. Having dealt with them for years, their awards are pay to play. They are a media company the core, driven by the $ and its really easy to win their awards in any given category...if you pay and play by their rules...trust me, I have done it before.
