DEN / DFW / ORD seem to be the EAS destinations. Makes sense with all of the connections available.Jump to post
UA needs to look at what AA and WN are doing. AA announced they are bring their fleet back by May and WN is adding routes like made. If UA doesn’t respond, AA could do damage at ORD and WN is already adding ORD-LAS/MCO/TPA/RSW. UA responded to AA by adding ACK from ORD and changing Hawaii to 788 and...Jump to post
AA gave ORD-Japan to UA/NH and JL for OneWorld. Pre-COVID, ORD-NRT had significant business traffic (Many Japanese companies have US Operations in the NW Suburbs). If AA can’t make ORD-NRT work with JL and a big market, as well as all of the connections, why BNA, CLT, and PHL do better. Another dema...Jump to post
What sort of traffic is there between ANC/FAI and SEA/MSP that there are so many flights daily, while big city hubs like LAX,SFO,ORD,JFK/EWR don't get to enjoy such multitude of flights to these destinations, despite their huge metro population? Most people are just connecting Connections. However, ...Jump to post
What will UA do to compete with WN at ORD given A.Net has written of AA at ORD and WN will move MDW Ops to ORD and G4 will be the TZ of MDW?Jump to post
Yes DEN is growing, but does not have the premium traffic that a growing Houston has to Europe or even declining NYC and Chicago have to Europe.Jump to post
Location, location, location!
If Canadian traffic was similar to Mexican traffic, MSP would be like DFW / IAH to Mexico. Just different markets.
My DL contacts say ORD-LAX is “in the works.” As a former DL intern, I would take that as legitimate. I can’t see thus happening until the move to T5 though. Same with VS returning. Market is there, but yield isn’t there. Looking for a contract to seal the deal. UA is killing it with High J and AA h...Jump to post
Based on this forums homers: BA from MAN - AUS/BNA/BOS/DFW/DTW/IAH/PHX/YYZ is given.
In reality, BA is not starting MAN - USA (including Canada since a poster here always brings YYZ into USA route threads).
They had 10 years to prepare! I have no sympathy for them.Jump to post
While DFW is a great hub (only ATL is better for DL), let’s be realistic on some international flights: ATH: Only served seasonal from EWR / JFK / PHL / ORD. This is a pipe dream. NGO: Toyota alone will not fill this route. LAX didn’t have NGO with 10x the O&D and Toyota. KIX: ORD has significan...Jump to post

That has to be a mistake, how can Dallas have more destinations than BOS?
Auto industry! Stealing all the LATAM O&D that should be at the Motor City!
Some people actually believe that!
Maybe AA will add BCN, BRU, and ZRH in the future.Jump to post

BNE-ORD starting a few days earlier. Are advanced bookings good?
Jal and Latam have codeshare agreements between GRU-JFK-TYO and GRU-BOS-TYO. I could swear that GRU-LHR-TYO was also an option. Wouldn't TYO-YYZ-GRU be better as it would avoid transiting through the US? It could be similar to CAN-YVR-MEX. Why don't you just give this a rest? If they don't want to ...Jump to post
I could definitely see AZ serving ATL, MSP and maybe DTW seasonally. Ages ago AZ was to announce IAH service and regretfully it never happened -- they they hooked up with Skyteam. Not with DL flying the route. FCO is extremely seasonal as mentioned, but non-JFK DL hubs have enough service. Yes, the...Jump to post
The fan clubs in CLT, PHL, and PHX will be disappointed that MNL won’t be their first Asian nonstop.
Not going to happen, even from DFW or LAX. MIA has a lot of MNL traffic, but yields that make AA ORD-China look good and we know how that worked out.
Even with the Air Italy, AV and WW setbacks, ORD keeps moving forward! FI going daily double offsets WW, AA adding seasonal to ATH and upgauging 3 LHR to 789 (1 is seasonal), Y4 to QRO, and TP starting in June. ET going to 5x weekly. Looking forward to 2020, LY is now confirmed! It’s just a matter o...Jump to post
Interesting that ORD is on this list at all. The delays at the airport are down significantly when compared to before the newer runways came online. Maybe because ORD was slot controlled in the past and has had delay problems as well. Most of this is changing due to the new runway configuration, ev...Jump to post
And anetters think PHL is AAs new Asia hub with 22 a day to NRT? ORD has more F / J per day than that and AA can’t make it work. Good luck PHL! And CLT?
I can see JL doing HND-BOS/DFW/LAX/MIA/ORD/SEA, but HND-AUS/BNA/CLT/PHL/PHX/RDU make little sense.
I would guess the following will be required / demanded:
I can’t find where I saw this, but anyone else see or hear that Avianca is pulling out of ORD. May 19th... GUA is only booking in full fare Y in May 4x a week: https://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/282910/avianca-ns19-us-inventory-changes-as-of-12feb19/ And AV just announced a GUA hub. ...Jump to post

MIA to South Africa or hubs with big populations to CMN are the only routes that make sense for AA to Africa. As mentioned above, DFW is not an oil market! IAH is the oil market in Texas. DFW has some HQs, but the employees and commercial airline travelers are in IAH. DFW to West Africa would be a t...Jump to post
If CLT is that important to AA to Asia, than why didn’t AA apply for CLT-HND? There is a reason AA doesn’t fly and won’t fly CLT to Asia: it would lose more money than ORD was loosing. LAX is bleeding too, but less than ORD. People here “want” routes that are not needed. Face it, AUS, CLT, and RDU a...Jump to post
Any update on ORDs performance? Based on this forum; it’s an atrocious money losing route and only there because UA and the city of Chicago “pressured” the CEO of NZ (who used to work in Chicago) fly this route. B6 is trading JFK and BOS to AA for ORD. Really. AA reduced ops at JFK to make it an O&D operation and is growing PHL as their hub ops. They don't want JFK as a Hub. This was a sarcastic joke. B6 isn’t leaving BOS AA is not keen on expanding JFK AA at ORD is a pure lower 48ish plus LHR and CUN....Jump to post
