F-GTUI performing a flypast at Kemble can be seen below. A truly stunning sight!

Re: 777 Retirement/Scrapping Thread - 2020

Anyone know how many cycles/hours G-ZZZC ended up with? http://thebasource.com/aircraft/b777-200/g-zzzc/ has no information about but it also reports that it has been ferried for part-out and scrap today. As only two old 772s are left flying for BA I guess these sisterships will also be retired ver...

Looking at the cheat line, it appears to look like a USAF E-11A - airframe based on the Bombardier Global Express

Re: Current operators of the L-1011

The only aircraft that is currently active, as mentioned, is the Stargazer. Although the ex RAF frames at Bruntingthorpe have regular maintenance done to them (anti det runs etc..), as they are due to leave to a new owner in the States for aerial refuelling duties (that's if they ever leave!). The a...

Re: Classic 747 list

A9C-HAK (Bahrain 747SP) is stored and no longer active. The same reg has been taken over by a 747-400.

VP-BAT (Qatar 747P) is also stored in Bournemouth but sporadically has engine runs.

Re: Your first L1011/DC-10/MD-11 flight(s)

L-1011: Royal Air Force - we went up to tank RAF Typhoons and then a second time during the TriStar's farewell event where two flew in formation together. DC-10: Airtours and then Biman Bangladesh when they brought the -10 over to the UK for a farewell event. MD-11: KLM MIA-AMS. then a further 2x fl...

Re: Extremely rare runway configurations

Back in 2013 I took off from 09L at LHR. Those familiar with the airport will note 09L is used only for landings, we got lucky in the fact there were runway works on 09R meaning only 09L was in use.

Re: MAN news 57: Seattle calling

I just wonder when TCX will look seriously at CPT - another Condor destination which seems to be the template.

TCX are already flying CPT from LGW in the winter season. There are also full charter flights from MAN this winter also.

Re: Beijing airport hotels

An update on this if anyone is interested. The room in question was actually 526, which I eventually got, after overcoming the language barrier and assuring them that I would pay the extra for the bigger room. The room itself is ok, but it is at an awkward angle for photos of the runway and taxiway...

Re: 2017 European Short Haul Heavies

The Thomas Cook B767's are now gone, one has gone to Amazon Prime Air, and the other 2 to Condor. However, still plenty of widebody action from MAN: Jet2 will have an A330 to various points, notably Palma, Rhodes and Tenerife. Thomson use a B787 for various short haul flights Thomas Cook use the A3...
