Re: DTW-MCO on NW in April 1996 - equipment?

April 1996 it would've been NW442 DTW-MCO Dep 1910 Arr 2145 on the DC-10-40.
The return would've been NW587 MCO-MSP Dep 1300 Arr 1530 on either the 757-200 or A320 depending on the day.

4/96 DTW-MCO saw the DC-10-40, 757-200, 727-200, DC-9-50 and the A320.

Re: Northwest 747 question.

The last regularly scheduled domestic 747 service was NW305/NW308 MSP-LAX-MSP during the summer of 1999 operated by the 747-100. There were a number of scheduled swaps through 2003 but none more than 2 or 3 times. If you include NW920/NW921 MSP-HNL-MSP as domestic, it saw 747-200 service through the...

Re: ATL Finally Starts Construction on A380 Gates/Other Updates

Parking the A380 at F3 is probably worth the expense because when parked at E concourse, it parks at E3 and blocks E1 for any other use. That's two major widebody gates out of service for one flight and during peak times, that's not helpful. Combine that with Delta essentially wanting E to itself a...

Will they be able to run mixed operations on the 3 runways? Landings/Takeoffs or are they going to be stuck with the current system?

Re: Why doesn't DL start KIX-SEA again?

As others have said, the rate of return that DL uses for their LH flights is such a high bar, they no longer operate flights on the margins, even profitable one. Capacity for sake of capacity no longer exists. This is why SEA-KIX hasn't returned. Not that it couldn't be filled but that the airplane...

I'm somewhat surprised they haven't already tried this again with the 777-200LR. Maybe we'll see it added again for Summer 2017. Delta inherited quite a few beach markets from Northwest that it continues to operate.
