My flight from IAD this evening landed on runway 24. In all my years flying in and out of STL, I don’t think I’ve ever landed on that runway, it’s always been one of the east/west runways. And it looks like that was the only flight to use 24 tonight. Any speculation as to why? Know if there was any...Jump to post
Speaking of Gander, hands down one of the best stage shows I ever saw in my life.
"Come From Away" film adaptation of the Broadway show premiers this Friday.

Could this meltdown get to a point where the FAA would step in and ground NK for a few days to allow them to "re-boot" their operation? I wondered the same thing - posting in another thread, if they'd have to shut down for say a few days, a week - maybe two or what have you - to reset ope...Jump to post
We were staying at a US National Park lodge last weekend. The dining room hours were very limited due to staffing issues...and our server told us that seven people had quit that day...just walked off. I can totally see this happening with these airlines that rely on third-party vendors for above an...Jump to post
Why? I get Andrew needs to go but if Chris has done nothing wrong as far as we have been told, why should he go? They are two separate people. The AG report makes clear that Chris participated in strategy sessions and helped his brother craft an initial PR response. You don't see how that's a probl...Jump to post
Something tells me the recovery here is going to be extremely ugly...along the lines of just axe everything for say the next two weeks and start again at 6 a.m. some morning in the future once you get planes and crews repositioned, rescheduled, etc. etc.Jump to post

How did she end up at LAX with a Cleveland-Atlanta itinerary?
NK has not had a flight leave SJU since Sunday. The keep cancelling everything a few hours before departure. They just need to be honest with their passengers and cancel all the flights for this week. "Due to staffing issues with our vendor we are unable to maintain service to SJU for the fore...Jump to post
To clarify one thing about terminal 5 crowds Terminal 5 post security has the most space per narrowbody gate of any New York airport terminal. They also have ample restroom space…Another luxury at New York airports. Where terminal 5 is lacking space is the head house, the roadway system, and the fo...Jump to post

Hopefully this will appease all the BNA fanboys who keep speculating why/when WN will start IND service. This will obviously facilitate same-day business trips between the 2 cities for whatever of that demand exists. It's about a 4.5-hour drive each way. I am cheering on for this service, but I jus...Jump to post
Haskell Free Library is an awesome and unique place to visit. You can pretty much roam freely around the grounds within reason - but you do get the feeling that someone is definitely watching you the entire time. What was the Haskell Free Library like before 9/11? Didn't make it there before 9/11. ...Jump to post

Well, it's entirely subject as what made sense back then - might not make sense at all looking at it from the prospective of 2021. This TWA route map from 1994 comes to mind. http://www.departedflights.com/TW070194.html That TW route map actually isn't unreasonable given the aircraft at the time an...Jump to post

It'd be interesting to see if there is some sort of 'agreement' or 'clause' between Allegiant and BLV airport giving them say "priorities and first rights" at current gates at the airport, therefore forcing someone such as Breeze into parking stand(s), of course Breeze perhaps not having a...Jump to post
If Spirit's St. Louis entrance was a big of a splash as we're hearing, would not be surprised to see them jump on other routes such as Punta Cana or Montego Bay, for the winter season, of course - all have Southwest service still, yes? Would be great if there were some left field additions to bring ...Jump to post
Agreed with OP.
Not much time during a lunch break and it was during lent. Someone observing lent (unlike myself) grabbed fish sandwiches from Arby's because it was quick and easy. I have to say - they were pretty damn good.
I was impressed and I went back and got a few more in the following weeks.
Not to go entirely off topic as this is the STL thread - I've been to AVL a few times now. It's a great place. The airport handles the traffic pretty well - although I'd love to see a little more "exciting" vendor choices :) What worries me is not the size of the airport, but the availabil...Jump to post
Spirit Airlines- Not surprised they're doing well. The travel industry right now is what Spirit focused on and was built for. Most other carriers were always catering to that savvy business traveler and corporate contract. Right now, it's leisure central. Allegiant Airlines- These sweeping add addit...Jump to post
Really more why Denver. It’s not like there is much there that can’t be served over ORD/IAH/LAX/SFO. Dallas is a huge local market to the Subcontinent and a growing one to Africa. Denver is good for connections to/from a lot of midwestern cities. United has a huge hub there and it's in the Star All...Jump to post

Agree, but it's been a long time since people in these markets have been used to looking for flights from BMI

I flew from Indianapolis 3 times in March. Asheville, Dallas/Ft Worth, and Tampa at roughly $110, $90, and $95 roundtrip, respectively. However, if you want to be particular about it and say March Madness is to credit for all of it - then the numbers are all skewed since March Madness is a one-off e...Jump to post
Allegiant really is able to get some incredible performance out of their markets. Looking at places such as Minot with 40-something thousand people in the area and they're filling planes a few times a week to Las Vegas and Phoenix and turning an airport, such as Asheville, into a boom town for them....Jump to post
