It was also having structural issues towards the end of its life with leaks and the roof in general being the most severe.

The building doesn't fit in with JFK's masterplan for a smaller number of much larger terminals, though that was possibly conceived knowing that T3 was going to be demolished.

JFK Terminal 7. More often than not requires being towed onto the stand because space is so tight. With the terminal dating back to the 1960s it wasn't realiy designed for anything bigger than VC-10s and 707s...Another reason why BA won't/can't operate the A380 to JFK.
