I think what is amazing is that with fare increases, demand is still high. Despite all the inflationary pressures, consumers are able to keep purchasing tickets and affording vacations and other leisure trips. I do wonder how sustainable it is as fares keep rising as well as inflation. Wages are up...

ATC cannot refuse “permission” for an emergency landing. If the captain said, “declaring an emergency, we need to divert to CLT”. ATC’s only action to provide traffic priority and separation.
