Re: What has happened to AIRLINERS.net?

Part of the problem is civil aviation is really getting boring. If you consider that 3/4 (or in some cases, 100%) of what you are going to see at and airport is the A320 and 737 family of aircraft, no wonder there are less and less airliners on the Home Page. Consolidation of the airline industry al...

Last year a Volga-Dnepr -124 landed in Toronto and was immediately impounded due to sanctions Canada had against Russia. Did that plane ever fly out? I agree. Anything less than 7,000ft is a bit tight for a widebody. They should have landed runway 27. No need for a widebody to use 22. Well I guess I have learned something on this forum that a widebody is very dangerous on shorter runways. Really everyone? I have watched A321s, CRJ-100/200s and o...

Are you serious? If there is a strong headwind, landing on a 6600' runway can be comparable to landing on a 10,000' runway in still air. You cannot just look at runway length alone. There is a difference between an 8000' runway and a 6500' runway. Especially on a widebody. With many operators, land...

I really do think the plane should have diverted to DUS/BRU instead of landing at AMS. This is just overall a situation that could have been avoided. Why risk a flight that needs to land on such a short runway. A widebody aircraft shouldn't be landing with only 6000 feet. Short runway landings can ...
