Re: What’s UA’s domestic/Hawaii First like?

Hnl iah is a quicker 6 hr flight. You do not get ua club access in domestic F in hnl/ iah unless you have a membership or pass or pay the $59 entrance fee. There is full dinner service with ice cream and chocolate sauce (modified sundae service). I think what is offered chicken or fish (salmon). And...

Re: Why is United flying the new 2-class domestic 777 on the SFO-EWR flight?

Re: why they are on SFO-EWR. The routing of one of the aircraft is actually SFO-EWR-SJU-EWR-SFO. It looks like a 767-400 will take over the EWR-SJU route in the summer. There are still a few 77H models with 32F/312Y, and United could sub in for that market. There are less 77H's now than the new conf...

Re: UA undecided with 767 replacement

What could happen is a used purchase of those late delivery used 767s like the ANA/LAN airframes. If United has to do reconfiguration to UA specs anyway, they can be reconfigured into the new Polaris and the new economy, leather-like seat.

Re: UA IAH- MUC to be up gauged to 772.

Nice to see, this must be one of those upgauges as a result of the 777-300 deliveries. Someone can confirm, but I think United had to upgauge both routes as the aircraft are routed IAH-muc-EWR and the other EWR-MUC-IAH as MUC-IAH leaves before IAH-MUC arrives, allowing United to utilize one gate for...

I think the 767 3class are only getting behind the scenes upgrades (cockpit, avionics), not seating upgrades. I suspect they will live out their lives as 3-class until UA needs to dump capacity or a recession hits, then they will be parked and parted.

RE: UA Upgauges 757s To 767s EWR To Germany And Spain

1. The 757s are aging and are losing a bit of their performance (as all aircraft do over time). It appears the plan is to fly them domestic, which would mean transcon, high altitude airports, and Hawaii. This will keep pace with the competition (Virgin America, Hawaiian). Also by switching them to H...
