It looks to me like areas where there just isn't any vehicle/plane crossing them. If you look at the lighter areas, they seem to follow the plane movement patterns whereas the darker areas are offline.

The difference that I really notice is that the plastic surfaces on planes today stay much cleaner than before smoking was banned. Before, the planes always seemed "sticky" with brownish smudges on every plastic surface. You still see some dirty surfaces but nothing like the grime in the past. Mike

I understand times are tough, but working for a company that only gives you 900 hours per year is pretty tough in itself. I assume that they have this policy to avoid paying full benefits?

I live in Kingman and I can tell you that the last one, which was there by itself for a long time, is gone. Sad end to a beautiful plane. I flew on many of those TWA L-1011's in the 70's and 80's. I wish I had saved some tail numbers to compare to what was parked here.

In just over an hour this morning, five DHL DC-8's arrived in Kingman (KIGM). I assume they are being parked. Kingman seems to be DHL's storage facility of choice lately. A lot of traffic in a short time for Kingman!

A lot of times I put them on as soon as I sit down, without powering them on, just to cut the volume on the announcements. They have the volume on the PA cranked up so high to overcome the talkin...

From the condition of wheels and tires that I can see in the pictures it looks like they deployed but were locked up. They are scrapped down until only half is left of both the tire and the wheel and then the gear is broken off and sitting behind the wing.

From my own experience, jet bridges in the U.S. all look like they are cleaned about once a year if that.
