Re: Boeing 737MAX Grounded Worldwide Q3 2019

Milestone payments are not not being made, but Boeing will still be paying Spirit and CFM. Is Boeing paying for the engines or the airlines, as is the case usually with bigger planes? I remember that Boeing said CFM keeps production rates to compensate for the troubles in the beginning. Now, if Boe...

Anyone has an idea how many planes parked out of the shop? I wonder if Boeing will have to cut production rates down again soon, must be hell of a strain on the cash flow to have all these parts and planes sitting around.

Re: Updated: Aeroflot 1492 SSJ100 fire at Moscow (SVO) - 40+ confirmed dead

Aside what has been the origin of the emergency, this needs to be looked at from design perspective and carefully analysed. People in the rear had no chance at all. It needs to be studied if improvements in the design of the cabin nacelle could possibly avoid such a situation in the future. Landing ...

Just left DXB on EK to PRG, take off immediately after a plane landed. Was surprised, thought we would queue.

On board, business cabin completely full, due to all the upgrades.

That said, the food on EK could use some overhaul. Grtting worse and worse.

Re: B737MAX Grounded Worldwide

I believe Boeing will be very careful with the fix. AS others have mentioned, the MCAS seems only half of the trouble. The AoA sensor, the integration to the ADIRU might provide some more headache as well. Now, just imagine the grounding is lifted and another MAX bites the dust, with the plane being...

If one of the fixes Boeing is planning for is"not allowing MCAS to move control surfaces to the full length", I shake my head. One should think that they would consider before what the effects of full deflection would be. And as its designed to overrule the pilot, its rather to be expected...

As sad as the end of the line for the big bird is, at least we will see a bit more diverse fleet again at EK. The 380 is unmatched in comfort for me (with looooots of flights with EK each year...) But nice to see that the 350 will arrive there. Aloing with 777x and 330neos and perhaps 787 (which I d...

Simple, regardless if he is a creep or not: No male crew on board? if no, management to blame, as such things are foreseeable, if yes, cabin crew to blame. Left aside that company policy should put some limits to what crew should be exposed to. But then, if you do have a problem, its up to them to c...
