Well, I have been working in airline operations since 1999. Figured it might be a safe move with better job sercurity as an ATC. I went to Purdue and took a couple ATC classes.

Yes, FDX is flying all US Mail. Except for a few point to point flights. ie one city to another. But these can change daily depending on what the Post Office wants. They are mainly adhoc charter

I used to work at that USPS hub... the only thing going threw it now are trucks. Now and then you will see a plane on the ramp. Usually doing an adhoc charter flight for the USPS. Also it will con't to be used during the Chrismas Rush for the USPS. As long as the USPS still pays the airport for it.....

I know what they operate. They still have aqual paintscheme and I have noticed a new livery.

I was told about 700-800 people. All departments. Not sure about FAs and maitance..but for sure res and other supporting staff.

I don't mind the banner ads along the top of airliners.net

But the GM ad is to much. Evertime you update or switch to a different area it pops up again.

Yes I do like the sounds of the 20s myself...

I just need a cabin size aircraft...that is affordable to operate...mainly on 45 min to 1 hr legs

How much does it cost to operate these aircraft? Say on a 1 hour flight. There are so many flying around on medical runs, express cargo services etc...I often wonder how much profit they compaines make on each flight...I heard they charge big bucks... I thought the Learjets where great little worker...

ATA has 4 L1011s sitting at the IAB ramp at IND. I work at ATA. I heard the older 350 series will go and we will get the newer 500s.

However as for the 753 being a replacement for the L1011 that is almost true. ATA is interested in the 767 due to the fact the military likes a widebody

With all of the USAir 727-200 for sale.....wouldnt a cargo operator like BAX/Air Transport Intl, AbEx etc be interested in coverting them to cargo. I have seen a few Beech 1900s around in full cargo configuration. I am courious how much they carry (pounds). With or without the cargopod mod also.

Would this be a good future for the 1900s?
