Re: Air Canada News And Discussion Thread - 2022

Interesting and unexpected. The new 767s are a big surprise. There must be tonnes of used 767s available, albeit older frames. What is the payload and performance difference between a converted 767 and a new build 767F? I know there is quite the difference in a 77L converter to a freighter and a 777...

Looking at that idea from my perspective makes sense, considering they may have to use some pretty rough airstrips as emergency landing sites, should that one engine have any problems. Tougher landing gear, longer range, bigger payload, and lower landing speed seem pretty attractive. It certainly w...

Is there enough 772 in the fleet for AC to do YVR-SYD and YYZ-DEL? Or is AC playing it month by month due to the ongoing airspace restrictions over Russia? Definitely not unexpected news. But great to see AC expanding the fleet. Any movement with the AC 77Ls at VCV? I think 2 have left VCV and 1 from MZJ. I saw C-FNND with the transponder on at VCV a couple of weeks ago. Although with the recent downgrades in service AC could have delayed the return of the remaining 3 77Ls.

I guess KL will have to invest in some baggage handling equipment at AMS. I recall that you can do either containers or loose baggage loading into the A32X. If they go with the containers for the new fleet, they’ll need new or more loaders.
