Florence (FLR/LIRQ) is short, at 5,118ft./1,560m and is probably terrain-limited when it comes to any further runway extension. However Pisa is not far away and has long runways, so it serves as the de facto Florence airport as far as most routes are concerned.

Livery repaints are not always a top priority and have to be phased in any event, for a variety of reasons, cost being one. In the case of aircraft that are due to leave the fleet in the short- to medium-term, most likely they would not be repainted before this occurs.
