Re: Amazon Fleet Discussion - 2020

Aer Sale just bought 25 Rolls Royce powered B757s for conversion. Anybody think since they are probably ex AA, well maintained, and excellent paper trail, these are the aircraft rumored for the Amazon Australia venture to be based in Brisbane?

I'm going to guess they are for Amazons Australia venture to be based in BNE. Rumors have been flying around about a startup looking for B757/B767 aircraft. What better than to get similar aircraft from the same source that have a good maintenance history?

Interesting on another thread, there is a lot of speculation that AMAZON is looking to set up an airline with B757/B767 based in Brisbane, Australia
starting in Spring 2021. This would be an interesting expansion model.

I believe I read recently that the plane is going to be sunk as a divers reef in the near future. The wings have been cut off but the fuselage is going
to be placed underwater for divers and to make an artificial reef.

Didnt Garuda serve the US at some point in its past? Original service started in 1984/85 with a DC 10 that was Co-Branded with Continental. GA flew JKT-MNL, then CO took over in MNL on a MNL-GUM-HNL-LAX routing. GA on their own started with a DC-10 in 1986 that went CGK-DPS-BIK-HNL-LAX-HNL-BIK-DPS-...

There are a couple of airlines adding B767s to their fleets, ie

these aircraft will be utilized on a "New North American" network.
Doesn't take a slide rule to figure out what that is.
