Re: Oregon Aviation - 2024

As time goes on I’m beginning to think the Port doesn’t really plan very well. There’s really no reason why they needed to spend $500 million on this new terminal. They could have gotten something very suitable and very nice for far less. But, you know, renewable this, and local that. All of which ...

Flew SJD-PDX today on AS and got yet another reminder of how bummed I am the Port didn’t relocate customs/immigration as part of the terminal remodel and get rid of that blasted bus ride. Was checking on ANC-ENA today and the flight frequency is kind of crazy. Grant is running up to 26 flights a day to ENA and Kenai Aviation is doing up to 18 a day. And it's not even summer yet. Seems like they are both doing very well. 394 seats per day between both carriers. I’d guess that is abou...

Re: Oregon Aviation - 2024

I think the short answer is they don’t really need to. SEA and SLC can get most places in their network with one stop. It does leave a hole on California, but there’s not enough EUG/MFR/RDM-California traffic to justify a fifth carrier (AS, UA, WN, and G4 all serve some combo of Bay Area/So-Cal fro...

AS taking out an another carrier in the state of Alaska that many depend on is not a good look for them. PDT-SEA won't do well unless they start a codeshere agreement with AS.
