Well, the 777X has been "launched." No, it is not in service, but it certainly is launched. KE and OZ both have lots of experience with the 777. Same could be said for SQ, they had significant 777 experience. The elephant in the room and the reason why Korean buys so much Boeing is they m...

Why don't they just use the F414 EPE? Its been ready and waiting for over 10 years now and has 115kN. Because that engine doesn't exist. There is zero chance of a 787 MRTT The main reason is I do not expect Boeing to take second hand 787 and develop and fit a boom for it when they could simply sell a brand new KC-46. Proof of this is Boeing has blocked 767 passenger to tanker conversion to sell KC-46 to Israel. Airbus by comparison ...

CAS is more of, "how close can you shoot at a target to a nearby friendly" than anything else. It's more of a skill set of the pilots and crew, from being able to pick out the target, communicate with troops on the ground, and aiming the weapons, than anything to do with the actual aircra...

I'd imagine at the end of the day, a coalition ground force would sell call in CAS from the closest available/necessary air asset, be it a USN F18, USMC F35B, or even a USAF B52. Not sure I've ever seen a B52 mentioned as CAS. CAS is more of, "how close can you shoot at a target to a nearby fr...
